Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart aurait adoré certainement entendre cette voix sublime chanter ses opéras, merci au regretté Wunderlich et encore plus à Mozart pour de tels chefs d'œuvres musicaux

The rich repertoire for Domenico Panzacchi (Arbace’s creator) has survived, from his debut in the 1748 up to the Munich operas (the bulk of the repertoire) pre-Idomeneo, with music by Bernasconi, Jommelli and Galuppi. It really does deserve attention, considering that he was a great singer AND actor.

He is an all-time Top-10 dramatic tenor for the very reasons you are now listening to. His power-trills are goose-pimpling! No one before or since in recorded history achieved what this Lithuanian Jew; with cantorial training ever accomplished. Enjoy. He is a huge treat to hear! I own both the Odeons and the HMV of this. Only upon my death (61) may they ever change hands.

Schön. Fritz Wunderlichs Stimme erreicht himmlische Höhen. Wir können uns vorstellen, wie der Auftritt von Valentin Adamberger am Premierenabend dieser Oper gewesen sein muss. 🥺

Streit was a super hot looking blonde kind of pale tenor. Where the body was tall and athletic the voice was smaller. It carried but was mostly a nasal and head formants as the throat core sound was not terribly strong. He was calm and plaintive with enough energy to make things less dull in Mozart & Handel.
Kurt Streit を知ることになった懐かしい思い出のアリアです。この力強くてそれでいて甘美な美声。何度繰り返し聴いたことだか知れません。わたしの大好きなアリアの筆頭にあげられる歌のひとつです。

Hm, listening to this piece in Kaufmann's presentation is very odd experience indeed. FIrst of all I have to admit that Kaufmann's voice neither was big nor had any squillo, deepness, shine. Technically it is quite bad as well, if he wanted to perform this aria he should prefer the alternative Raaff's version. Because bravura aria is a very fast music first of all. This too slow tempo is just unacceptable. The fioritura elements are so poorly performed, especially famous long staccato lines and thrills. Short breath, there is no any hint of effortless which is the main characteristic of the Mozartian singing. Although I'm very appreciated you for this rare and really exclusive record.
