I feel like the beter option is to take it apart and soak it in your home made stuff and scrub them with a wire brush. that way the corrosion will be gone for good.

With the big wheels and 4.2:1 gear, you'll win some races on smaller technical tracks, but you'll always have trouble on longer tracks against 3.5:1 gear cars.

Here in Indonesia we have several style of build. In East Java the prevalent build is using no brakes at all to maximise speed. in East Java Side Damper Style to control the speed instead of using brake they use a longer tail in hope of the back tail would scrape the track and the result is more controlled jumps. Also beside the longer tail, to reduce the speed they're focusing on the battery voltage and the length of spacer used, so that the underguard would scrape the track less or more. This style is most effective on SFM and Super II chassis for some reason. So now when Tamiya re-issue the 95239 Carbon chassis there's almost a frenzy for Mini 4WD fans to get this, since it's pretty much a META chassis here.
@claredin
@claredin 16 күн бұрын
My original FM-A open class had a long tail and did not need brakes. I always wondered why it performed so well without brakes! However, I believe that no brakes also means no protection on the carbon plates so there's more of a chance of cracks in the chassis where the plates are attached to the chassis. I'm only beginning to experiment with SFM. It seems pretty cool :)

brake is important! i came from technical setup back in philippines and we use tz chassis with 13mm roller on front , 19mm on 25mm screw on side stay. brake are from rear sliding damper with brakes. (1996-97). then i came back as a speed tech racer in dubai in 2014 and it was totally different on brake technology.

I'm trying to get somthing going in my home town how does outhers go about lane choice and who race first
@claredin
@claredin Ай бұрын
There are many different ways. To see which method is right for you, you have to go to some races to see how they conduct them. The one that seems to work best is you create the order for all the racers. Try to get a good mix of different skill levels for each heat. Each heat has 3 racers for 3 lane tracks or 5 racers for 5 lanes. The winner steps aside and the next set of racers race their heat, etc. You then have all the racers race in sets of 3 or 5, etc, until you have a winner. You can race a "1 and done" meaning each car gets 1 chance to go all the way to win it. Or you can race a "progressive" when even if a racer loses, he/she gets another chance to race again for lane 2, lane 3, etc. It'll make a lot more sense to go to some races and see how this is done.

Thank you for the info about that kit with hollow shaft. The most satisfying on prostock is just roller position adjustment, and parts combination u can use does a drastic change on how the cars performs. I do the lower rollers at the tail in front and the upper at the back to counter the course out from lane changer, also we usually dont use the skid bars to adjust the airtime of jumps during slope for it to land exactly at the end of each slope so they would not bounce at highspeed. Hope this helps 😊

29k but 3.0volts. Whats the rpm in 1.5v?
@claredin
@claredin Ай бұрын
Don't worry so much about exact numbers at X volts. Measure and compare the speed of different cars on the Tamiya speed checker. Place any car on the roller wheels closest to the LCD readout and measure the speed of the car. Now compare that to another car. Most cars are 24km/h if they are pretty fast. A few can be 25 or 26. Maybe one car in 1,000 can be 27 or 28. One of my cars was 28. I've even seen one car that was 29. That's how you should compare cars. But remember, speed isn't a guarantee to win races, but you can't "teach" speed. :)

So far I've only seen people use either Torque or Light Dash since this isn't exactly like Tuned or BMAX where you have brakes and dampers Also any of the Advanced Kits can't be used except for the Car, Motor and Rollers(I think the advance kits use the box stock rollers but correct me if I'm wrong). Not sure about Hollow Shafts though, never used them in Prostock since I'm also new to Prostock(I'm also from the Philippines lol)

I know someone who's been tearing up the Pro Stock backyard races here on the East Coast with his Pro Stock cars running HyperDash and PowerDash. He's competed against open class cars quite successfully with them. He's even beaten me at the podium (him Gold, me Silver). He's found that magical combination that works well.

How/where did you cut the car catcher for your poly cowl?
@claredin
@claredin Ай бұрын
You'll have to study the video for the exact shape, but I encourage you not to be bound by the shape I made. You might find by happy accident a shape that might work better for you. Start with a basic triangle with the side dampers on two corners and attaching the tip of the triangle to the front posts of the car and shape the car catcher material around the cowl you are using.
