They used extras who were serving soldiers who set up camp on set and stayed there.One day they didn't film as friends had died in Iraq or Afghanistan. 60 thousand gallons of water were put on set daily to keep it real.

Churchill also served in the trenches. Churchill also championed the return of the gold standard which meant the British economy recovered slowly after ww1. Churchill also sold off the empire to the Americans for 50 old destroyers.
