Great video...brings back lots of memories for me, too! Then, I remember a few situations when one of the 60-80 pounders decided to hit the fly about 3 feet from boat side. That's your and your guide's OMG moment, especially when other skiffs are nearby. 😀

You can use ground beef and pork plus sausage with sage, rosemary and thyme or you can make a roast of beef and pork instead. There is no recipe with amounts. It is all by eye. Roughly beef to pork to sausage 3:3:1 and roughly 3+ tablespoons of dry rosemary, thyme and sage. Often I add beef bullion for additional flavor. It is salty enough that I don't add salt. Cream cheese or Parmesan is optional as is the parsley and basil. It is important to grind or process the mixture. It needs to be fine or they will be difficult to stuff. The pasta is one egg to each cup of all purpose flour. Hope that helps

Dan you are tarpon catching machine. not to mention a great job filming the experience. always enjoy your material. when fishing a gurgler do you use fluoro or mono for bite tippet?
@DanFerraris Жыл бұрын
If I rig the rod ahead I use mono, but if I switch from a baitfish pattern, I don’t bother and just leave the fluorocarbon on. I don’t think it makes much difference.
@patspangler2351 Жыл бұрын
That is an amazing number of feeding tarpon. Were they feeding on baitfish or small shrimp? Looks like the gurgler mimics whatever they’re eating very well!!! Have fun………you’re definitely on the fish. Very few fish on the beach south of you…….😢
@DanFerraris Жыл бұрын
It was quite the sight and the video doesn’t do it justice. The water is very muddy and I couldn’t tell what they were eating, but at time’s recently I’ve seen some finely shrimp and pipefish. I don’t know when it started, but it was over in 20 minutes.
