Outstanding quality from the time, so good to see this. I was on the final run, hanging out the opposite side at York, so great to see quality footage of it. Many thanks for posting!

Brings it all back. Wonderful carefree days as a young teenager spotting 'proper' locos. What a railway we had back in the days of BR. Great film, you can 'taste' the era, just how it was.

Thanks for the comment Simon. 13 was possibly my favourite, used to see her everywhere, it was one of those locos that seemed to haunt you.

The original footage is silent Super 8 cine film, the audio is the sound Super 8 cine projectors would make.

Thanks for watching. Drop any questions below. This was filmed by my late Dad Brian Booth and my elder brother David. I'm the 13 year old in 15's cab. Happy days.

I attended that event on that particular day and to my dismay was thrown to the floor by a German tourist because I stood in front of him. He and his wife then ran away

Unfortunately the 6 month old £400k diesel is in the back of the steam shed awaiting the rectification of issues with the power unit cooling system. Meanwhile the 100+ year old kettles steam on! DB.
