Birth and death is a process, with increasing clarity of previous advancement ...to participate in Earth's evolution Time is an enemy/ friend/ medium/ instrument The miraculous instantaneousness of the supreme divine Transformation And if that is not enough, Sri Aurobindo defines time: Time is a field of circumstances and forces meeting and working out a resultant progression whose course it measures.

Unless one has a bhakta temperament, I doubt this works. In fact, I wonder if I can even bring myself to sympathize with this manifestation and divinization project, given how much suffering it has produced. I cannot help but rather not exist.

Yoga is an inner shift of consciousness. Here work is necessary - starting from work and proceeding through work. A movement of three keys ; knowledge, love and will. Why Karma yoga - a very important lesson is shared in this chapter.

Very interesting. Thanks. I have a query sir. Sri Aurobindo in his philosophy has told us about the upward evolution of consciousness that is from matter, body, vital, mind to supermind. But in this video, it seems that we have undergone a downward devolution of consciousness from age of intuition to age to ignorance. How to co-relate these both theories sir?

Very good question. The past evolution has spiritualised the mind and downward. Now time has come for the physical itself to be spiritualized and that requires the supramental force to manifest in the physical and transform it. Evolution is happening here in the material world. Each line carries deeper meaning that requires multiple contemplations. Two lines I have noted: I) Our whole being - soul,mind,sense, heart,will ,life,body - must consecrate all its energies so entirely and in such a way that it shall become a fit vehicle for the Divine. ii) For once our minds are reasonably fixed in the central vision and our wills are on the whole converted to the single pursuit,Life becomes our helper. Thank you Sir. You will feel joyful knowing that your little buds are slowly blooming somewhere🪔🙏

Sri Aurobindo often mentions Mother. Universal Mother, Mother Nature, Divine Mother etc. Is he referring to Mother Mirra here specifically or to see every form as the feminine energy?

Dear @Promita2023, The Synthesis of Yoga was written between 1914 to 1921 and Sri Aurobindo named Mirra Alfassa as The Mother only in 1926. The Synthesis of Yoga was written for a global audience using a language that is universal. So in the context of this book he is referring to the Universal Mother/Divine Mother/Aditi/Shakti. However, when Sri Aurobindo refers to "The Mother" in his later writings meant for the sadhaks of integral yoga he often specifically means Mirra Alfassa, whom he recognised as the embodiment and active representation of the Divine Mother. Sri Aurobindo emphasised that Mirra Alfassa was not merely a symbol or a representative of the Divine Mother but a conscious and living embodiment of her force. While she represents the transcendent and universal aspects of the Divine Mother, she also acts on an individual and personal level, guiding aspirants and helping them align with the divine purpose. Thus, in the Integral Yoga, the recognition of Mirra Alfassa as "The Mother" serves as a concrete gateway to experience and relate to the universal and transcendent aspects of the Divine Feminine.

Just joined the 1 year pathfinder today. Listened to episode 40 and 1 of your reading the book here after joining, with the purpose of understanding the essence of your life. Actually episode 40 before joining and episode 1 after. 40 convinced me to join and 1 is still very abstract to me. Some time is required to process this first paragraph. Now I maybe better understand your educational philosophy of the necessity of practicing the theory. This is the first time I take interest in Sri Aurobindo. Thank you for sharing your realizations to help our understanding. I will see you in the pathfinder program.
