Great Review! I do like Super C a lot but I have to say I prefer the original Contra more. There is a lot more hazards, enemy variety and gimmicks to each stage making them memorable while all Super C has for the majority of its stages is: Enemy A - a running dude, Enemy B - a ''new'' Cannon and Enemy C - a unique enemy that appears once or twice in the entire game. A lot of the challenge in Super C is just constanly shooting a large horde of running dudes and the occasional cannon and the stage layouts dont help this case either. Because of that, the game comes out as simple and redundant at points.

I will say, just by watching this video, the graphics of Super C are a considerable improvement! The original NES game has its charm in that regard, but this game refines it.

Fire is actually very OP, the charged shot does damage, the 8 orbs it releases do damage too, and since you can fire another fireball behind a charged one, well do the math

Super C is a better game in many ways, but I still prefer the original due to level design. As you stated in this video, there's just too many flat sections of "running dudes." It lacks some of the variety of options.

Hello, my dev friend, how are you? Do you plan to release an optimized version of the game, to play on weak PCs? Well, when I try to open the demo, it immediately says that Godot has stopped working, and I don't know how to fix this! Ps. Make a gameplay of Wing Man, I really liked his style, congratulations!

Gotta say, this is one of the best reviews I've ever seen on this game! Amazing job, you really put a lot of work into that one... I'll be signing up for more in the future

Hm. First time I've seen someone talk about the depth this game has, though of course you would be the man for the job. I've been a bit interested in giving a full shot at some of the other Castlevania games myself, so I may consider having an eye out for this one as well! As for a series that I think you should cover in the future, this one MIGHT be inevitable, but the prospect of you covering the Sonic games (beyond that one video you did on Sonic Rumble) intrigues me.

I absolutely love this review, Dem! Everything you said was concise and made clear, and the emphasis behind your points are amazing! To answer your thoughts on what games to do next, I would suggest touching the series you covered in the past. I really loved when you touched the Ninja Gaiden series, so watching you review Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos would be something I would watch 5 times over! Another series that I enjoyed lots was your Mario series! Seeing you play Mario 2 (and completely forgetting about Mario Bros. Special) would be another enjoyable watch! Keep up the great work man, and I hope to see more in 2025!

In terms of franchises to cover, I'd say continue to cover the ones you have covered so far, but also, whenever you want to, add another franchise to the mix. Also, I honestly can't wait to see how you'd tackle the Metroidvanias like Symphony of the Night, seeing how those are uncharted territory for you.

How is it the game designers' fault that you can't dodge attack's for long enough to use your charge shot? The developers clearly designed the new charge shot so that you only get to do more damage if you take less. Otherwise, you'd just damage boost through any significant obstacle. Even if you do get hit, you can at least shoot them with a normal shot and get in *some* kind of damage.
@demontropolis774214 күн бұрын
That's not the problem. You spend a long time charging, and getting hit removes any payoff that time would have given you, after which you have to spend even more time charging. MM6's charge buster isn't even as strong as MM5's buster (relative to the game's enemies, that is), so saying "just don't get hit" is a bit dismissive of an argument.
@xycord277014 күн бұрын
While I won't deny the Super Mega Buster can be more frustrating to use against robot masters, I worry that the alternative is that it will be so easy to use that the semi-charge shot (I call it a level 1 charge shot) and regular shot lose practicality in stages. The semi charge shot being bigger requires less accuracy to use, the regular shot can be used rapidly on the ground for high damage output, and they can be used together in the air to destroy small enemies that take more than one hit. The charge shot comes with all of these things, but is balanced by having limitations. Another factor to consider is that in most situations you have to fire off a regular shot in order to start charging which in the context of a boss means that by the time the boss's s end, you'll probably have a fully charged shot to hit them with by then. As for the charge loss mechanic, I (in my opinion) don't find it too problematic in concept as I prefer to focus on dodging the boss and launching a counter attack rather than going in guns blazing. Lastly, you mentioned your video that Mega Man in 6 picks up speed too fast. Lacked a slide jump, as well as jump inputs being eaten. These issues can compound upon the charge loss issue, resulting in more frustration than if the movement mechanics were better polished. P.S. I hope this is a more well-constructed comment than my first.
