Not having to have to tie every part of the construction from foundation to the roof with steel rods and wire mesh makes building so much simpler. Here in Puerto Rico where we have constant earthquake activity we have to, otherwise the houses become earthquake traps. Great video to see the very nice workmanship. Thank you for making and posting it.
@startsustainableacademy5 ай бұрын
Yes, these structures cannot resist intense earthquakes. But they are only used for storage purposes or as ware houses, or in villages.

Death trap for poor people. Must be Pakistan does population control by earthquake caused crushing deaths. Those ceiling slabs will crush whoever is unlucky to be inside that home when a magnitude 6.0 quake visits.

Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate your concerns, but we also appreciate for constructive feedbacks/discussions instead of biased and irrational comments. These types of slabs are used for storage or warehouses where humans won't live. For storing material or any other non-human resources, these are considered very cost effective and time saving options.

sir what is the name of the plastic sheet you use to stop water seepage ? here its not available , only chickn mesh is available here , please mention the name or please provide any link to view the material you used , thankyou
@startsustainableacademy10 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. The sheet is called "polythene sheet", you can search this item with same name on google. It is easily available all around the world. The plastic sheet alone will not be able to stop water, it should be used with concrete layer, chips layer and cement/sand mixer layer.

Reinforcement details are not furnished
@startsustainableacademy11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. These are precast girders and beams. During their construction "offsite" reinforcement is added in them. The details depend upon the design requirements.

Why Mu=Vu(14-5ft)? Why minus 14 and 5ft?
@startsustainableacademy11 ай бұрын
The formula Mu = Vu(14ft - 5ft) represents the calculation of the moment (Mu) in a structural member, often a beam, due to a shear force (Vu) acting at a specific distance (5 feet) from a reference point. In this formula: Mu represents the moment, which is a measure of the tendency of the force to rotate or bend the structural member. It is typically measured in foot-pounds (ft-lb) or other appropriate units. Vu is the shear force applied at the location of interest, often measured in pounds (lb) or other appropriate units. The expression (14ft - 5ft) represents the lever arm or the horizontal distance from a reference point (such as a support) to the location where the shear force is applied. In this case, it's 5 feet from the reference point.

I’m building a house in Panama. Originally from Germany, where I used beam & block system to build my house. This system doesn’t exist in Panama. So I was already planning on using my own molds across each room and pure my concrete mix into it. The molds will be 122cm in with. I will move the molds every 2 days until the house is fully covered. I wasn’t sure about thickness of the slabs. But doing it 2 inches with the 1st concrete + the foil (I need anyway so the concrete can cure properly by covering the slabs) + 2 to 3 inches at the second time is what I had in mind. Now seeing kinda done from your company, gave me some input. This also reduces the wood needed because I would only use it one time. - What I didn’t had in mind was the plastic foil used between the 1st & 2nd final mix. Good thing I watched your video. Very good information. Thanks from Panama.

This is a recipe for disaster in an earthquake prone area.
@startsustainableacademy Жыл бұрын
Yes you may be right but these types of structures are suitable for warehouses and stores. With skilled workforce and careful construction these structures can bear normal range earthquakes. As far as severe earthquakes are concerned, even framed structures fail.

I don’t think that you actually get what it is what they showing. Systems like that are used for thousands of years around the world. These systems now made of concrete are not the final product. Rebar and another 3-4 inches of poured concrete on top of the whole floor are used to get a full 6 inch roofing/ ceiling. In Germany 8-10 inches!

DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. AMATEURISH CONSTRUCTION,NOT BASED ENGINEERING RULES.

This method of construction is very old and used in asian countries for last many decades and considered safe in moderate to normal seismic zones. But are not recommended in highly active seismic regions. These structures are only used for storage rooms, warehouses or industry sheds.
