I think I understood the video even without speaking any Chinese. Quite the effort the government has put into the resort. I am happy Taijiquan is well.

would someone please make an English subtitle for this video so that we, non-Chinese speakers, can understand more about the origin of Taijiquan...

Most people learn The 18 step in Chen style to start, than move to Laojia 74 postures. Students are never taught Xinjia to start, its movements are extremely complex and requires extensive coiling and flexible of the hips and waist. Laojia old frame first form is complex enough.

How much you can use your hips and waist (or Dan Tien) is depend on your skill not which form you practice. Chen style 18 Step form is 18 postures from Laojia old Frame form and combined them into a new form. It still reuires extensive colling and flexible of the hips and waist. Just because it is shorter, doesnt mean, it is easier. .

Interesting variation on the form with the extra transitional movements.

I am always amazed by the variation within the Chen lineage. Though they look different, I know it's about what's happing internally. Thanks for your perspective. On looking more I feel that the form I practice looks more like this: x0tc8IGYpfU I have a lot to learn yet.

Thank you. This youtube-->NcWOB3jc4eA is the lao jia that I am learning. I guess everything else looks like Xin Jia to me. I meant no disrespect.

Nice! I don't know what is laojia about this. Could it be xin jia?

There are 2 Chen Zi Qiang, Their chinese name sound the same. Therefor in ChenJiaGou they call the bigger one big "Zi Qiang" and the small one small "Zi Qiang". The small one is the son of Chen Xiao Xing and the bigger one is the nephew of GM Chen Zhaosen.
