Thanks so much for all these comments! They are really interesting. Please keep the conversation going. Personally I see no issue and one of the reasons why is because of the chat I had with Rabbi Shapiro kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ-vgHavrZl5iNk . While I didn't articulate it, its clear to me that while G-d lacks nothing, to complete the story of creation that He started, He had to manifest himself in it. For Christians, this is Jesus, the messiah who fulfilled the prophecies and completed the loop. I accept that many Jewish people do not recognise Jesus as the Messiah, but the more I learn, the more I am convinced that it was Him. He was a Jewish man and Hashem was the God of the Jews. Through Christ He has become the God of all. Its just a case of hoping everyone will see that. Thanks so much!!

All Jews are "Jews of color" Jews are not and have never been "white", some are "white passing" as they say, sure, but never "white". Beige is a color. They were the schwartzs of europe which is why so many are named schwartz.

biggest problem with saying you follow both judaism and Catholic church is the reason they split. yes christianity , islam and judaism all follow the same god but christians view jesus as the son of god and god aswell , while judaism view jesus as just an ordanary man and islam view him as a prophet. so saying you follow both judaism and christianity you are saying you believe jesus is just a man and was going against god by claiming to be divine and he is also the son of god. you can be a jew that follows christianity or you can be a jew that follows islam or a jew that follows judaism but not both as the core aspect that divided them cannot work together

The low hanging fruit. Jews have the Shema. We pray it twice a day, it's in the half dozen mezuzah I have around my house. The prayer literally proclaims Hashem being a singular entity. You can be a non observant Jew and an observant Catholic or you can be an observant Jew and a non observant Catholic. But you can't be observant in both literally under Catholic canon law. (You wouldn't be able to participate in minyan and yom Kippur as a Catholic)

I'm genuinely confused on the novelty, last time I was in Israel, I saw multiple black Jews, many of Ethiopian descent. Are people not aware of the beta Israel or that skin color has no bearing on inclusion into the jewish people?

@@scottgreeff7043 I was listening to the video while I drove. The Jewish agency doesn't approve people who are halachically Jewish and practice a non compatible religious belief (Christian, Islam, polytheists) unless they are under direct threat of harm. But if he was already an Israeli, there is no second class. One of my cousins converted, nothing really changes. You submit your religion change to the government which only really matters for required military/civil service requirements. (If you change it to Muslim they can't force you to serve your civil service time in the military because you could conceivably be forced to kill a fellow muslim and instead you do like medical or civil service time)

@scottgreeff7043 Black people are not 2nd class citizens in Israel. We the same rights as everyone else. I live in a community that has residents who range in looks from what could pass as Scandanavian all the way to much darker than me (black with medium brown skin). There are Catholic people in Israel as well, and they have full religious freedom. There are big, beautiful chuches in Haifa and Jerusalem. Most Christians in Israel are either Armenians or Christian Arabs. People just don't try to practice them both, and that's not even possible from a Jewish perspective.

Humans can do good and evil, that's free will and god has granted us that so there's no reason for him to intervene in such matters. Also, not every decision a person makes is god's fault, that's just ignorant to say, that's why hell is made, to hold people accountable.

I watched both this episode and the Outback Rabbis in full. Watching another documentary “Life in occupied Palestine” by Anna Baltzer provoked my interest in Israel’s particular human rights abuses. The documentary is told by a Jewish American also. I am learning more as I go and interested in learning more about Judaism and the history of the conflict and Israel as I go. Peace to you 💐
