This is fine, but not how Egyptian heiroglyphics were made. The symbols themselves are raised, not indented from being chiseled.

You can also use HYDROCAL..better for casting, not as good for modeling

good ! straight lines are very easy to engrave, the problem is that the curves are tight and especially with certain types of granite, and when the writing is about to be gilded, you really only have to keep an eye on the stone
