So was Joey, who was more shocked than p****, and I wonder what their problem was with seeing Dawson happy. Did it hurt them? Did it surprise them? After what they did to Dawson, don't they think he deserves a break?

@@Daddario_77 Because Dawson is also a romantic. OFC he wants sex. But, he also desperately wants/needs to be in love. He NEEDS to be able to show that someone special that he'd be willing to rope the moon for her. As Gretchen said, sex is mechanical... his need is also emotional.

Oh, what brought me to this thread... IMO, someone messed up. They got together knowing that Dawson was going to California in the fall, while Gretchen was going back to Boston for college then. They said, who cares... we care for each other, let's go out with no fear and no regrets and see what happens. Then, Gretchen slams on the brakes because they're about to part ways. Some IDIOT made the decision to ignore why they were together and give us that lame excuse for them not have gone there on the beach. I get that it's a big step that the show Bible for the season might have prohibited. I get that sexual tension between characters is good for the show. I get the fact that it's easier to say something than it is to follow through with it. But, I still don't get that explanation for that moment in time. It doesn't ring true for me.
