Hey, great video. I have been trying for days but to no avail, i keep getting a 'null' for my response variable from the getpotentialmatches api response. It seems as though flutterflow is having an issue giving the data back to me, but it works fine on your example. Any ideas?

The video title may scare potential new users away. Many people just keep an eye on tech stacks for when they will be able to get time to learn it later, or those new to the field and still searching for a tech scan all the options out there and if they see a heading like this they may think you made a u turn away from FF. That was my impression but was so relieved its not the case after watching through this excellent video. Thanks for all the great content. FF needs much more advocates like you because its really a great product and deserves mass attention from millions of devs.

Hi James thanks, i do share the same opinion Bubble , such as Adalo, Bravo Studio ( they drove me nuts..they were first on Figma..now we have Uichemy for Elementor.. ) Fliplet and FlipStudio failed to evolve , FlutterFlow is another thing , i hope to see some tuts on Audio player ( which is kinda neglected on FF ) with playlist from Supabase or tuts on Revenue Cat + FlutterWeb - PWA , would be huge to develop a Saas which works accross the platforms , i mean , who buys on Web can recognized as paid user on mobile and viceversa , accassing pro contents , by the way thanks for all i will soon support you on Patreon

I am soooo much in agreement. I spent almost a year learning and then building a complicated app in Bubble, because when I looked into FF (two years’ ago) it had too many limitations. But when Bubble did the unthinkable with the pricing changes, it pushed me to find an alternative where I would never have to feel captive to a proprietary system. I was depressed having to start from zero and learn FF and Supabase, but I was surprised by three things: 1. FF had changed dramatically since I had last looked at it 2. The learning curve WAS rather steep at first, but then )thanks in large part to your tutorials 🙏) it suddenly began to make sense and a whole bunch of pieces came together. 3. The places where you can/do write your own code in expressions and custom functions is about a million times more natural and simple than in Bubble. What bothered me the most in Bubble was the incredibly painful integration of your own list operations, and converting from JS to Bubble - especially for lists - was awful. But in FF, it’s as if it was built for this 😉. All my custom data structures, everything just… works. And with the AI for custom code help, even without knowing Dart, I can figure things out. Bubble has the advantage of a far more mature community… it’s easy to Google for an answer to almost anything in Bubble, but not FF. However, most answers I found for Bubble were somebody’s workaround, and it never felt good even when it “works.” It took me several months to learn FF and several more to finally get my rebuilt-from-zero app in FF back to roughly the 80% done place it was when I left Bubble. I have no regrets except I wish I had listened to my nagging doubts about using Bubble in the first place. I always felt uneasy about the proprietary system, but I could not imagine they would shoot themselves in the foot and exploit the community. FF has more safeguards for this, because we can fall back to Flutter or - worst case - all the way to Dart code. Yes, it’s still no guarantees, but I feel 1000% more confident about FF and Supabase.

Not sure if you heard - Bubble's new native Mobile App feature is rolling out Q4, and you should ABSOLUTELY 1:1 review that. I think it's going to be popular. You'll be able to turn existing bubble apps into native mobile apps - it's currently in pre-alpha, and is getting good feedback.

Can I use Uber API to build the app

Thank you for your video James. Howerver, this is NOT practical. Users are not able to login into the database to grant permission. It would be helpful if you can do the exact same thing but using Flutterflow as it would be in real life. User should be able to grant permission and assign roles using flutterflow through the front end and NOT the back end.

Hey James - This is great but any tips to speed up the load time for Flutterflow Web Apps? It takes atleast 10seconds for a new site to load for the first time which is just bad experience.

The custom function has a problem don't follow this tutorial.
