Does this effect have anything to do with the placement of the coin-box by chance?

There is no editing... i know how paul did it, and i cannot understand what is the issue here. But, i know why its being hard for some to figure this out. Paul was a friend of mine ... and paul was an old time magician. That is YOuR problem. Paul was not particularly the juggler type of magician with his hands lol Its a pretty cool trick presented by paul. Just do your own version. There are tons if versions of matrix and travelling coin type tricks

Smart and woderful magic. I was astonished to your machine. I've gazed your youtube movie. And several times,I consider how to penetrate glass sheet by nails. Really, only natural and logical things are occred. So,if I replay your magic similarlly,I will use two glasses. One glass is set the window before stage. But it will slide to the wooden flame to the half level on the right side. 3holed wood cover will cover the movement of big glass slide. And,on the left side,by the spring mechanism, small glass will spring out to the wood cover part. So,there will comfirm the space for 3nails penetration. How I find this system, your eye movement taught where trick exist.Human being is very afraid to be found secret by others. By the way,Great Magic I think.Thank you. DukeNyan, from Japan

At timestamp 3:57 when he puts his thumb behind wooden stand, he gently pushes up a part in back, and simply slides part of the mirror up into the top of the rim where it exposes a hollow spot in an area of the mirror that has the hole. after the trick is done, he simply allows it to slide back into original base.
