The Korean War: A Crucible of the Cold War and a Legacy of Division The Korean War, a brutal and devastating conflict that raged from 1950 to 1953, stands as a pivotal event in the history of the 20th century, profoundly shaping the geopolitical landscape of East Asia and leaving an enduring legacy of division and tension on the Korean peninsula. This conflict, rooted in the complex aftermath of World War II and the escalating Cold War, became a proxy war between the United States and its allies, and the Soviet Union and its communist allies, with Korea itself serving as a battleground for ideological and geopolitical rivalry. The Seeds of Conflict: Division and Post-War Tensions The roots of the Korean War can be traced back to the division of Korea along the 38th parallel following World War II. After Japan's surrender, the Soviet Union occupied North Korea, while the United States administered South Korea, leading to the establishment of two distinct regimes with opposing ideologies. The Soviet Union supported the establishment of a communist state in the North, led by Kim Il-sung, while the United States fostered a democratic government in the South under Syngman Rhee. This division, coupled with the growing tensions of the Cold War, created a volatile environment in Korea. Both superpowers actively supported their respective allies, fueling ideological and political conflicts. The Korean peninsula became a flashpoint in the global struggle between communism and capitalism, with each side determined to secure its influence in the region. The Outbreak of War and the Initial Phases The Korean War officially began on June 25, 1950, when the North Korean People's Army, supported by the Soviet Union, launched a surprise invasion of South Korea. The North Korean forces, equipped with Soviet military equipment, quickly overwhelmed the South Korean army and advanced southward, capturing Seoul, the capital, within weeks. The United Nations Security Council, spurred by the United States, condemned the invasion and authorized a multinational force to intervene in defense of South Korea. The United States, as the leading power in the UN force, played a crucial role in the war effort, deploying troops and military resources to repel the North Korean advance. The Intervention of the United States and the UN The initial UN intervention, led by General Douglas MacArthur, stemmed the tide of the North Korean advance and pushed the fighting back north of the 38th parallel. The UN forces, bolstered by American military power, launched a series of successful offensives, including the daring amphibious landing at Inchon, which turned the tide of the war and drove the North Koreans back to the border with China. However, as UN forces pushed further north towards the Yalu River, the border between North Korea and China, the Chinese government, fearing the threat of American and UN troops reaching their border, intervened in the war. The Chinese People's Volunteer Army entered the conflict, launching a massive counteroffensive that pushed UN forces back south of the 38th parallel. The Stalemate and the Armistice The Chinese intervention marked a turning point in the war, leading to a prolonged stalemate along the 38th parallel. Both sides suffered heavy losses, and the fighting became a brutal, attritional war of attrition. The front lines remained entrenched for several years, with both sides digging in and engaging in intense fighting to maintain their positions. The war's intensity and the heavy casualties on both sides eventually led to negotiations for an armistice. After prolonged talks, an armistice agreement was signed in July 1953, effectively ending the organized fighting. However, the armistice did not bring about a formal peace treaty, leaving Korea divided into two separate states, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) and the Republic of Korea (South Korea). The Impact and Legacy of the Korean War The Korean War left a lasting impact on the Korean peninsula and the global geopolitical landscape. The war resulted in immense human suffering, with millions of Koreans killed or displaced, and the peninsula remained divided, a constant source of tension and instability. Geopolitical Impact: The Cold War: The Korean War became a major proxy war in the Cold War, solidifying the division of the Korean peninsula and further escalating tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union. The war highlighted the dangers of superpower rivalry and the potential for conflict to spill over into other regions.

Very interesting design. How much weight can this stand withstand? If I put 0.5kg object, would it rotate? What is the limit?
@3DELWORLD
@3DELWORLD 10 күн бұрын
It actually starts to lag after adding heavier weights. Anything over 500g might cause a bit of lag in the rotation.

I mounted the cr touch and installed the new firmware on the ender 3 v2. So far everything worked. Now I just need to put new firmware on the monitor and that is going wrong now. Namely, I have a SYNWIT (VIEWE) display and there appears to be no good firmware for that on the Github page referenced in this video? I tried the 3 files that are downloadable but they don't work. Then I immediately get a blue screen with some text that the firmware is not found. Who can help me? I have now bought and mounted a cr touch and can't do anything with it now. Would love to hear a solution.
