Kay so I have same bird. Yet I was told it was a female at ignorant Pet Store. After my Zebra Finches Himeno buddy Spice Finch passed away she hadn't laid any eggs, he was a beautiful old boy named Ame. I brought what I thought was a female Social Finch looked like this guy. Now I find eggs in her nest. Now godda rename the little one from Carmen.

The cage is a bit small.

Lots of head feathers out of place. Is the cage too small? I dont hear any flapping, just jumping. Finches like space to hover and fly. :(

Awe, come on buddy! you can do it! Too cute. I have two crested as well, one with dark top the other with white top. Babies came out crested beige-y...yours are so cute!

well, they have space and food and greens and hard boiled eggs. But the chick is out of the nest, and mom and dad are already (ahem!) making more chicks and lining the nest with the new moss and rafia I provided. Here's hoping for five nestlings in two months.
