wow WOW *WOW* , incredible!!! My cousin's family and I always go up to the Adirondacks every year for a weekend or so and this year just by chance we're doing an Airbnb in Willsboro. I was having a look around google maps and noticed an ICBM site literally across the street! After a bit sleuthing on here I was shocked to find this amazing record of the site's current rehabilitation! We're kind of into nuclear technology and history and it would be absolutely amazing for us to be able to see the site. Is there any possibility at all that we could stop by and have a quick peek around? Do you have an email address I could contact you at? There are only 5 of us total and we would of course be very respectful of your time and property if we had the chance to stop by. Thanks much for all the interesting video of the work you are doing at the site here!

7 monitoring/test wells were drilled years ago for water testing after the site was shutdown. I have found 6 of them and gave up on the 7th

Wow. I thought I took on crazy projects but you take first prize in that contest. I would LOVE to reclaim a silo, but my budget would never keep pace with my impatience to just get it done. I can't imagine the cost of buying, draining, gutting and restoring or reclaiming the space for new uses. Kudos to you and yes, I subscribed. :)

Keep it rusty, you’ll never be able to get back such a cool asthetic like that no matter how hard you try. Sure, turn one level into something livable but try and leave the rest. The atmosphere in there is just incredible and kinda sacred.

What is the end goal? Giant man cave? Underground survival bunker? Indoor climbing wall? Sandblast and paint everything, then fill it up with water for a really cool scuba diving tank?

Great progress with draining the silo - considering the level of filtration you're applying to the water you bring out I think 15 inches a day is amazing. So fascinating to see how much of the infrastructure they left behind. I guess at the end of the day there probably wasn't much of a market for it on that scale. Thanks for sharing your journey on this project.

Oh my. Looks like a lot of work. I've seen other silo projects. For me, I would want to get the water out as soon as practical and start drying things out. The humidity must be awful in there. Not good for what's left of the metal either.

Really cool!! There's a lot of stuff left in there by the looks of it. Your camera has a really lazy auto focus, might be worth setting it in manual focus at infinity, which will be fine if you're not zooming in on things :)

Them black tanks your using. I used to work at a factory that made them. Idk if them are the same from the same company or not but they look just like the ones we made. I worked in the commercial department and we made way bigger tanks then that and those were made in the residential department. They were always made well but it's cool to see you using them. Neat set up

I believe there are 10 of these atlas silos in upper NY I used to live by some titan missle silos in arizona. One by my house they halfassed the concrete pour when they decommissioned them and you could crawl down the main shaft and get into the actual base which was partially full of flash flood water and mud. By now, i would think that mother nature finished the process and its just packed to the brim with mud/flood debris.

Oh this is so cool, turning this into a house or bnb? It's in pretty good shape all things considered. Permit is limited 20k gal/day 14 gal/min BUT to remove the phenols that will have to be slow to give the longest contact time with the large carbon filters so 2-3 gal/min = 2" per day in the.Silo. Out of the 90 plus substances tested, phenols was a surprise, EPA limit for phenols is 2 ppb, Silo is 56ppb, post filter 43ppb, my land 50ppb & neighbors woods 150ppb. Work continues but even with 2" per day 2 months the top level of the LCC will be accessible.

We have to keep the gates locked to stop trespassers but do let people look round if they ring the bell at the access road. So do give us a heads up so we can open the gates, put dog in etc. Note if you leave it to later in the summer, the permit to pump will be approved and there will be lot more to see.
