That’s me hunting for slimes and slugs early in the morning and then again at midnight everyday. And of course after it rains. They are making my life miserable.

Iv notice that every time I leave a plate with some food for cat outside at around 1 am this plate is full of slugs around it and some in the plate eating jelly 😆

We laughed our ass off. You are so funny. I watched this several times. I also think it’s the beer. Last years I used India ale and killed a bunch. This year I tried some cheap beer and they wouldn’t even go close to the trap. I also heard coffee grind ( free from Starbucks) and cornmeal would work. Haven’t tried it yet.

I think you are correct. it was the beer. also very stubborn yeast-teasing slugs! Every year it's a soul challenging battle. Here's hoping we all prevail!

Wrong beer bro. try some Mickeys or hurricane, Old English. I just set 2 beer traps and had 10 slugs within 30 minutes. That frat boy beer doesn't even get slugs drunk. No joke ladies and gentlemen. cheap Malt Liquor is the way to go with a slug and snail beer trap. If you have a big slug/snail problem set at least 20 traps and after you catch a hundred or 2 finish them off with some corry's slug and snail, its safe for humans and pets. BTW pete not funny... People actually have slug and snail problems.

I have this slug problem too. They’re eating my sweet peas and peppers. I heard sprinkling cayenne pepper around the plants might help. Also, try egg shells around plants. I will try to do beer traps today

I think the beer traps are effective if you use a hoppy, darker beer. Slugs are relentless! I've been doing the egg shells as well and recieved pretty good results! Thanks for the cayenne tip and I wish you happy hunting for that thriving garden!

wow. I have used slug traps for years with great results. I just sit a shallow dish out and pour in some beer and find all sorts of dead slugs right away. Maybe they don't like light beer?

They like lager. Also, I saw a time lapse of slugs coming to a beer trap to tip a few and then on their way. Try a different beer and make the trap harder for them to escape.

This video cracked me up!!! I never have heard of beer traps for slugs.... I was tired of them eating my plants and didn't have to to run to the store and saw that beer traps will work. I set 3 different containers of beer around my garden last night and this morning there were 4 slugs in two of them! There was also a slug on my plant.... Maybe it's the kind of beer you used? I used two different kinds. One of mine was Modelo Negra and one was an Amber ale. Come to think of it, the one that had the Amber ale is the one that had no slugs in it.

Emilee Coburn I made a little dish made of aluminum foil. It worked. Slugs and snails like good beer. They won’t go for cheep light beer. Just FYI.
