We should expand the scope and reach of our scholarly domain into the Manchu texts, Taiga-Siberian affairs, and western Eurasia, not only in today's political Mongolia, but also historical greater Mongolia from the Amur river to the Aral sea and beyond.

Peter Marsh must have left part of his heart in Mongolia. I remember him in Mongolia back in 1990-s? He did a lot for the study of Mongolia. The Mongolian government should honor his work. It would be nice.

Interesting! Indeed that word Setgel is very deep in Mongolian culture.
Really interesting research- a lot of food for thought.

Everyone is talking about Batu Khan, Amba Singh, etc. But no one is talking about a story that is more sad than all of these guys' stories combined. It's about an unknown soldier, whose last words were "Yes, king. I'm a lion, pizza, chicken.". Edit: Grammatical correction

What a quite interesting lecture, what a pity, we haven't got the same level in France. Even if Paul Pelliot was a french Master in mongolian studies in the world.
