@v8creative16 күн бұрын
Good question, and the answer is no. However, I would say the options I have fitted are not heavy at all. The carbon fibre is a light as a feather, and as for the trim options these again are next to nothing. I would say even with a passenger in the car I don't notice a change in performance which I guess is telling me she is so light and there is so much power it's probably negligible. Thanks for the comment and keep tuned.

That engine sounds really really nice. What is the next project? Whatever it is, I'll be watching. Whoever the manufacturer is of the new kit -- if that is what's next -- they will surely give you technical assistance because your name would be gold for any company out there. Of course it's no surprise that you are selling the car. It's the journey that is most satisfying for builders. Still it would be fun to see you rip up a few Ferraris and gobble up some Porsches. Well, the one who buys The Beast from you can have the pleasure of doing that. In safe environs, of course. Ticked every box? @trading-university.18 күн бұрын
Lowest spec? Thats a relative term. It was a brand new engine
@v8creative18 күн бұрын
Hi Mike, thanks for your comment :-). When building an Ultima RS you have two options. LS of LT. I went the LS route since you can get the same power from an LS compared to an LT with a much lower centre of gravity. Yes it is a lower engine cost, but in my eyes it was, and still is the right decision. The LT4 comes in at 650bhp, the LS3 can easily get to that level with minimal tuning - hence my comment in the middle of the episode. The vast majority of options/upgrades I have selected are not cosmetic, but cooling, braking, fuelling, transmission, engine breathing, chassis, suspension, aero, electrics, exhaust, instrumentation etc. So not sure where you get cosmetic from? So my words are accurate, which can be verified by the Ultima factory. Anyway, where's that beer ;-)
@jasonhill586118 күн бұрын
@@v8creative I have been on an Ultima journey. I snubbed an RS with LS3 engine as I really wanted one with an LT5. None were for sale so I bought an older GTR720 with race tuned 406 SBC running 720bhp, hence the GTR720. In my time owning the GTR, I met RS owners with both LT5 and LS3 engines. The LT5 owners advised that the engine was too torquey for the RS, tall centre of gravity due to the super charger, and not much of a revy engine. Owners of the LS3 said that it was perfect choise for the RS becasue the engine is revy, light and readily tunable. I now own an RS with forged LS3 engine 6.2 to 6.7 (like the 406 720bhp SBC) with the option of twin turbos. I believe Nigel made the best choice, and the pristine car is ready for the new owner to leave as is or tune how they want. Nothing low spec at all, especially with the way that engine bay turned out 👌
@markwalton864418 күн бұрын
I'm not sure how you call a 500bhp low spec? Coupled to a Car which weighs under a Ton will be faster than a lot of Supercars with a Superior Power to Weight. The Rest of the Car is Top Spec and will hands down beat Most Supercars with Superior Downforce and Handling. If you want to Slap a Supercharger on or a Couple of Turbos it'll be a Higher Spec but to Fast for the Road! Perhaps you should build you Own so you can Prove you can make a Higher Spec!!
