She actually was doing really friggin well with the clutch, brake and throttle. Bikes have so much power that they can turn from saint to satan on you in 1/2 second. Scares the hell out a first timer that they don’t want to get back on afterwards.

IMO, it's important to let a new rider know that you fully expect them to drop the bike a handful of times at first. Especially if they are borrowing your bike. Let them know that you understand that they will scratch it up and that you are completely OK with that, otherwise you wouldn't be teaching them on your bike. This knowledge can take the edge off the mistakes a new rider is inevitably going to make. Also, not sure a 600cc sport bike is the best to learn on, but I guess you have to run what you brung.

Almost happened to me when i did a left turn with my dad's bike, i was 15. I pulled in the clutch and let it rev😂 scary shit, especially when ur not familiar with it. Glad everyone is doing ok.

Teached my friend's girlfriend how to ride motorcycles a few days ago and this is how it went.. pretty accurate..

First off - you did a great job with your coaching and handling the minor accident. My advice for teaching a brand new rider is to start out on a bike that's smaller/lighter to learn the controls before trying to jump on something heavier like an R6. I hope your wife keeps practicing and becomes a great rider.

I know when I was teaching my girlfriend, she dropped the bike in a similar manner and had the exact same reaction, but she was also crying for how scary it was, worrying for me and my safety. after time she got comfortable and now we ride together, glad to see the wife is ok, and don’t quit!
