Beautiful voice, beautiful poem, and beautiful imagery of what was my hometown so many years ago. That unforgettable place by the beach. I miss you Troon.

Prophetically speaking I just left fellowshipping with Jesus Christ and now I'm on my way to be baptized on September 5th 1982! Terrill TC!

I moved to irvine in 84.. Good Times. Pleasure dome was a good night club and Amanda's in the mall. Ruby Tuesday's. Oscar's. The Kings. The crown. The Eglnton. Great times met many good people who became good friends and more God bless them. Love to you all from a true irvinenite who remembers those days. God bless.

The Tesco at the beginning of the video used to be something else,, but I can't think what. I'm sure it was a warehouse for a transport company. A lot of changes there. But I grew up in Kilwinning in the era of Templeton, Galbraith and the co-op! The only Tesco was in the Rivergate centre in Irvine, and the nearest presto was in Saltcoats. Morrisons was something we'd never heard of!!

I believe it was originally built as a car showroom

@@williamphillips7992 I think you might be right, but something tells me that it was a Presto supermarket 🤔, but again, I can't be 100% certain.

I remember the Rivergate centre (Irvine Centre), waterwheels that didn't work, the plastic seats in the concourse, Cantors, William Low and Tesco amongst others!!

Additional comment,, the houses at the beginning of the video look a bit Pennyburn-ish!!!

Lived there until I was 9. That was 1980. It was a fairly decent place then. Looks like planners etc have wrecked the place.

Nail on the head tbh, full of huns and junkies, and that's coming from someone who lives there in the Woodwynd. Guess there's a reason Kilwinning in Gaelic translates to what sounds like kill the fenian (Cill D'Fhinnein). Has some redeeming features like the bakery's and the abbey church, although that tends to be infested with 16 year old wee fannys drinking. Also, don't go to Pennyburn or Blacklands unless you enjoy the sight of poverty as most of the Glasgow overspill reside there.
