I just found your channel and really like your content so far! Gonna keep watching. We’re from Canada too and did Baja this summer, amazing time! We heard about the three surfers but the story goes it wasn’t the cartel that killed them but just some lowlifes who wanted the tires off their truck. Apparently it was the cartel who tipped off the police about the killer. ✌🏻

Thanks for the sub! Where in Canada? I also heard this in the news later. Seems probable but there was also a theory that they stumbled in somewhere they should have and the cartel set the lowlife up for plausible deniability. Either way, it was certainly on my mind while soloing through that area deep in the desert and running into random groups who seemed out of place.

Stunner, wish bc/alberta would throw more money at fire supression. i've only lived in bc a couple but it seems fairly reliant on volunteer ground crews(nato allies to help). Its not like its going away , it's just getting worse. I am very happy that i got do lavina last year.

Yeah it's hard to say what the solution is. I've heard a fair share of criticism on the investments they currently make into wild fire services but like I said, I'm just a guy who loves to drive his truck. I don't know what the answers are. I just wish we could get into the alpine all summer long without threat of it burning down!

Beautiful location and video, and well said on the desire to protect these areas from getting over run. I share that sentiment. However, I have been wondering about it, too. Some of my favorite roads to places as spectacular as those in your video are now getting deactivated and over grown from lack of use. I joined 4WDABC, though I ride on 2 wheels, not 4, because they are working at keeping places open. So, do you keep it a secret, or share it with the public? Hard questions, and I appreciate you sharing your perspective.

Never share, they always get closed down by people sharing on social media and it getting overloaded. Hope you got to go to Molyb ridge before Shawn leaked the location and they shut it down

@@xDefender11 unfortunately i never got to go and that left a major impact on me so I do everything I can to keep places private. If people want to go, they have to put in the work, and then respect them. No one who is handed a location will value it the same.

I don’t think you could’ve made a more perfect quote !! “The Mountain has a way of not making it easy you must pay the fee and put in the work if you want to get to the top” Someday I have to get back to BC the difference between adventure/Overlanding in the states and the spirit of adventure in BC there’s no comparison not a dig on us down here It’s just the reality of what BC has to offer the spirit of the people that seek adventure there.

How you felt about this trip is exactly how I feel about doing The Rubicon, and when I turned 50 I said I'm doing it!
