Pretty cool hike! I think I should consider this. Only concern would be the heat! Gotta carry ton of water and Gatorade!! 😂

What kind of plywood did you get? 3/4 inch? And also did you just get one 4 x 8 piece or 2?

There's a blog in the description that shows the material list! Yes I got 3/4 inch and I planned my cuts to only use one sheet of plywood

Hello! We may have the same car so I hope you can help me. I used a carabineer and it worked for about two hours. And then I woke up with my interior trunk light near my feet blaring. I couldn't get it to retrigger the sensor as closed! The BIGGER issue/question: why doesn't my dash "trunk door open" image go away? I just kept seeing the bright pic of my car on the dashboard with the flashing trunk. I think this may have happened even when the inside back light was off.
@HawkinSaeger8 күн бұрын
Oh no I wish I had a good idea. The only thing I can think of is to use the handle or reset the switch from the interior. Otherwise you may have to check with a mechanic

This is super helfpul. I'm exploring purchasing a Hyundai Tuscon which I will use as my everyday vehicle as well as camping. Maybe you say it in the video and I missed it but I'm guessing your bed isn't super easy to remove in order to use the back seats?
@HawkinSaegerАй бұрын
It’s actually not terrible to remove. In fact I designed it in a way I can fold and slide it all into the trunk. It takes a few minutes to set up/tear down. However I’m going to explore removing the bed platform now that I have a roof box for storage

I went Car camping for the first time in my Hyundai Tucson. The only issue I had was a dead battery after the weekend. As far as I know there was no power draw. Have you had this problem and how did you remidy it. I figure it has something to do with the key fob in pocket
@HawkinSaeger2 ай бұрын
I don’t have an electronic key fob. Mine is an actual key so not sure about that. Leaving radio on or door lights might be affecting you?

Are there any cons to this mattress? I was considering this, but I'm a side sleeper, and my hips hurt after a couple of days, so I'm a little apprehensive.
@HawkinSaeger2 ай бұрын
I’m also a side sleeper usually! I haven’t felt any pressure on my hips personally. The major con for me is the size. It’s a pain to pack with other gear

Sorry but what we’re the runs you did? I’m going soon
@HawkinSaeger4 ай бұрын
So at Snow Summit we started off easy doing runs on the skier's left side of the mountain. This was the 9 lift. Then we did some longer runs using the 2 lift. While these were nice they definitely were the most busy. Then towards the end of the day I did a lot of the blue/black runs off chair 7 and 6. These were my favorite as they were less busy and a bit more challenging. Those runs consisted of Timber Ridge, Log Chute, Olympic, 7 Down, etc.

Enjoying watching your videos and travels. I also read about everything on your blog. I am a 70 year old man who has recently gotten this strong urge to do some car camping. I recently bought a 2024 Hyundai Tucson which is how I discovered you while searching KZbin for "car camping Tucson". I have fallen in love with your bedding platform, and this video solves a few other questions I had about it. I will probably message your through your blog about a few other things if you don't mind. I live on the beach of South Carolina, but love the west, and have visited much of Utah including Capital Reef. Anyway, I just wanted to give you a nice thank you for giving this old man some inspiration to continue my dreams. Thank you Hawkin! Excellent video!

Shoot I didn't reply in time for your trip! I Hope you had a blast. Still though, It is the GoPro handlebar/ski pole mount! I really like it because I can clip my GoPro onto it and remove it really easy. Makes it easy to swap between helmet and ski pole views

Just wanted to mention, these stoves do NOT require an o ring at the regulator connection. I have the same stove and discovered the flat rubber gasket on the stoves valve assembly around the part that sticks out, and goes into the propane cylinder was cracked in several places. The replacement part from OLDCOLEMANParts is "S43" (5423A5611). I did not disassemble the stove to replace it. I just used a pick to remove the old gasket. Works great now.
