A very well put together video. I've been using my G50 since 2022 for my KZbin video unboxing videos and I'm looking to upgrade to a camcorder with a better and faster autofocus.

how do you KZbin LIVE stream with the G70 camcorder?

excellent overview and demonstration. What do you think of their performance indoors and outside? And do you recommend an external microphone?

no audio on the g70 UVC connection, pathetic. actually, so many pathetic things about this camera. only 1080 hdmi out, not 4k. the list goes on.

talk about splitting hairs. SDLR or micro 4/3rds are not a fully functional video cameras. you can not run & gun with them but they are good if you are stationary and have time to set up your shot.

Great concise review, good professional info in a short amount of time. Leaning toward purchasing for volunteer non-profit video filming work. Many years ago used the Canon HF prosumer line of video cameras, which performed well. My newest DSLR is a Canon-R8. A wonderful camera, however for extended video filming it is not ideal for my use case. Thank you again - subscribed.

Man I am so glad I found this video. I was cleaning and lubricating my same gen lock and the gears fell out when I tipped it the wrong way. Thanks to a freeze frame at 3:41 I was able to figure out how the gears went back together. Sweating bullets the whole time, but I think I have it working smoothly again!

I have the Vixia G30 and G40 for couple of years, later on I purchased Canon XA50 but Tend to use the G40 most of the time. Couple of reasons because its lighter and also the Oled 3.5 inch screen on the G40 is superior to that of the profetional XA50. When the G70 came out I purchased it because I thought it was going to be a upgrade to my G40. I was desapointed and had to retun it, reason being that the G40 does way better in Lowlight when you film 1080 60p. On the G70 you have to film 4k 30 to get the same lowlight capability as the G40. The G40 and th XA50 which has a 1 inch sensor shoot almost equaly at night. I shoot events at night with a light on my camcorders so this is very important to me. If canon just refreshed the sensor on the G40 and put usbc I would purched it instaly. I dont shoot 4k because I have to record for a copluple of hours. The G70 would be the perfect upgrade for me if it wasent for that drastic change when you film in low light 4k 30 to 1080 60p very dissapointed. Also the G40 was a little bit wider than the G70.😢😢

Hi, thank you very much for your to the point overview and comparison of the two cameras. Far more in depth than many I've just watched. I am looking at upgrading my panasonic camcorder, I shoot short films as a hobby of mine and felt with movies coming out on DVD in 4K and TV's coming out with 4K that I may as well get an upgrade. What is the battery life like on the G70? I've been trying to find footage of the outdoors or other colourful things with so many camcorders for an idea on how well a camera captures the quality. Thank you!

I actually own the Canon XA70. I cannot find a single review for it as it would seem that it cost so much that I guess most do not go for it. I love the quality of the camcorder and its outstanding for streaming too.

Great video demonstration of these two cameras. I had the G50 and did not like the LCD screen so I returned it. I was not happy using it. I bought an XF-400. I'm very happy with it except it sucks the batter quickly. I have had the G40 for quite awhile and enjoy using it much more than the G50 because of the LCD screen.

Tell me, is the picture in your d-log also making terrible noise?? In standard everything is ok, apparently the noise reduction works.

Do you know if they have the WIDE DR or Canon LOG, custom profiles? Cannot find any info on that, more interested in G50 as they are dirty cheap to get second hand rn.
