just finally gave myself the motivation to watch this anime, and i don't regret it. very beautiful show that moved me AND a lot to tears. its just that i was a little unsatisfied with how the ending was the final letter kaori gave to kousei was very bittersweet and did not leave me with a bit of satisfication that i longed after he played his final piece for kaori. i felt like with the last 2 remaining episodes, it would've been more impactful if they merged this scene and the final piece kousei played in both episodes with a slight twist. by what i meant of "merging" this scene and the last performance of kousei on the last episode is that: in the midst of Kousei playing ballade no.1 in g minor (his final piece in the anime) it would display Kaori's final words (this scene in ep 21) for him before her surgery on top of all the memories Kousei shared with her that was seen in the anime. And as for the TWIST i imagined, it would be her confessing her love to kousei directly in this scene from ep21 while she would be crying out tears not to "Leave me all alone!" which really gives you the feeling that she does not have much time left and where she longs to spend more with Kousei, which in my vision, would make this final piece more impactful and emotional solidifying the fact of how kousei poured his heart into playing this piece and how we see kaori's "soul" or "spirit" dueting with him on this final performance, thus also giving us a sense of "reaching her" before she disappeared. this would also give more meaning to the final "i love you" in Kaori's letter which i believe would give me that slight satisfaction i longed for. nevertheless, this is only a little unsatisfaction which lead me to the thought of having my own alternate "ending". i am not all that disappointed of the ending whatsoever. it shows how bittersweet and sad it was that it makes its readers and watchers yearn for their own ending of this show. truly a well written masterpiece which shows a lot of key detail even through its music being on point. i love and will always return to watch this show every april ❤
