I don't have a manual either. It's a nice and accurate lathe for small jobs. If the price is right go for it. I paid 500€ from mine and it was a bargain. Something that needs a bit thinking is the treading and the lathe needs all the right gears to do metric and imperial treads. Btw I'm restoring my lathe again and a bit more care. New bearings and stuff. Motor with vfd I think. I learned to do lathework with this lathe. I bet you can to👍

Hey brother! I remembered seeing this awhile back on garage journal so had to search and find deep in the forums today and found it again! and then saw where u had made a youtube video since the last time I looked! amazing ! I love the idea of repurposing some of these merchandising displays to integrate into the shop! I made a redneck craftsman similar display piece recently lol.. Nothing like yours but it will give me a starting point until I find a piece kinda like you did to practice on. Trying to think of what words to type into search for this.. Craftsman display unit or merchandising ? what would you recommend ? posting a link to my vid below lol.. sad ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6XCqJ96fpJ_g9E

There are no dumb questions👍 If I had cut a slot on the middle and made the folds there would be a two inch cap on the middle of the apron. There's always the folds you have to remember. I made double folds so those are neat from the inside too👍 Thanks for tuning in Michael!

Yes it was, not a single scratch from shipping. I'm not good with computers so yes you can, I mean your friend can👍 When you start designing your own parts things gets a bit tricky. Printing parts and stuff from Thingiverse is pretty easy👍

I remember reading about 3D printers about 15 years ago when they were still theoretical. The article I was reading was discussing what inventions were likely to change industry as a whole. The article concluded that 3D printing and transparent aluminum are going to be the biggest disruptors of the 21st century. I tracked this transparent aluminum throughout its development as well as the 3D printers. 3D printing ended up reaching the masses with cheap plastic printers, we have yet to see additive manufacturing done at scale. My question is, what happened the transparent aluminum? This was supposed to be a game changer, structural surfaces could functionally be windows. All things follow this path, great excitement followed by a very tempered variation of the idea, hence PLA printers. So where is the clear aluminum!?? I want it. For years I have dreamed of turning this material on a lathe. It is not even discussed anymore, what happened?
@thandles_workshop3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jean-Paul! That's very interesting. 3d printing has come very affortable, this printer can print Pla and Petg. Maybe some day we can print transparent aluminum. Isn't ceramic coating aluminum powder, you can buy clear ceramic coating powder. There it is👌
