Thank's for taking the time to do this video regarding the pulley upgrade ,it was very helpfull ,and nice to watch . I did the upgrade recently aswell ,and also bought the Chinese / ebay pulley ,with the removal kit (wich is a must to get the old one off ) . The removal of the original pulley was fairly easy ,but the fitting of the new one not so much ...after heating the pulley in the oven 3 time's at 225 degrees celcius for almost an hour at each attempt ,i could not get the pulley to slide on ,until i took a gas torch and carefully heated the pulley for 5 minutes ,and that did the trick ....i decided to cool the pulley with compressed air ,just to be sure that the heat didnt damage any internal seals in the supercharger . And as mentioned in a previous post ,its better to buy a higher quality belt ,as the one that came with the ebay kit does't looked that great ( it might hold up very well ,but i dont won't to take a chance on this one ) Next thing is making a appointment with the tuner for a remap .

Hello, Thank you for this video and comments. I have the same rattle problem on my 2009 A6 V6 TFSI. I will try to change the 2 top tensioners. I bought the engine timing tools. By removing the compressor, is it accessible? Do you need to remove the catalytic converters? For parts, I saw in another video that you bought INA tensioners? I hesitate to take those at Audi which are very expensive. the small slides at the top were not broken? Has the cold start rattle problem ever returned after replacing the tensioners? Thank you for your answers.
@torbenfunch9937
@torbenfunch9937 Жыл бұрын
Hi Thank you for watching my video! The removal of the compresor is nessecery but it is very easy and tales only about 20min When it is of then change the oil on the gear! On my car removeval of the catalyst converters was not needed but I read on Audizine that some S4 and S5 with same engine has a shield for the secundary air valves wich is not possible to remove with the catalyst converters not removed... The tensioners from INA did the job and there was no cold start rattle afterwards! The small chain guides you will need to get geniue bud they are only $4 each. Also you need ti buy new bolts for the tensioners ant the cam spokets! If you are happy with the car and want to keep it for a long time i would suggest that you chance the valve lifters and rollers. I didn't and I was struggling with sporadic ignotion fault on one cylinder. It turné out to be the rollers and lifters so I had to do the cam timing twice😂

Hi No there was no fault codes regarding the timing. But I had faultcodes for misfire on one cylinder. It gave me some headache! It turned out to be the rocker/rollers for the hydraulic lifters! If you deside to change the cam tensioners then I would suggest to do the rolers and lifters at the same time. They are not that expensive. You will need new bolts for the cam covers though...

I bought that same product also and got it installed now. Here is some notes: -For A6 c6 and this removal tool, there is no need to put car on to the service mode. Just take off the bonnet lock and the air intake duct. Installation process itself takes about 1,5 hour, if the new pulley fits on at the first try. - There is very limited room to work. Make sure you have LONG and slim 16mm wrench to loose the belt tensioner. - Loose the belt tensioner and put the locking pin to hold it still. This makes installation process way more easier. I took video with my phone from the engine bay to locate the locking pin hole. - Pulley removal tool worked fine. Make sure you align it straight towards axle. I made mistake here and destroyed the threading from tip of the tool. - Make sure the new pulley wheel is heated at least 200-250c when you install it on the axle. Pulley wheel cools down really fast, so you must have some sort of oven right next to the car. I utilized an airfryer for heating it to 200c for 1 hour and after that I used heat gun for 5min to ensure needed installation temperature. - This particular pulley from Aliexpress seems to be more tight fit than OEM. I tried to measure it and difference seems to be around <0.1mm. I used fine sand paper rolled on drill bit to carefully hone the center hole bigger. If you take too much, use e.g. Loctite 648 to secure the connection....DO NOT weld it on or you might screw up ECU and other electrical components. - Push the pulley wheel all way back and use pressurized air to cool the wheel and the SC-axle, otherwise high temperature could damage the oil sealing of the SC. - Installation process is pretty straightforward, easiest way to put the new belt on is to slip the belt on to the "opposite way" guide last. - And most importantly: Please consider buying higher quality pulley to make your life easier... Tool was ok, but tolerances for shrink-fit are too precise for Chinese low quality production. Worst case scenario the center hole would bee too larger and the pulley wheel slips off when your engine is running.
@torbenfunch9937
@torbenfunch9937 3 жыл бұрын
I did the same thing with sand paper and drill-bit! To be sure the pulley wouldn´t get loose I spot welded the pulley wheel on to the SC axle. Note if you use the belt that comes with the set then keep an eye on it! It is wery bad quality and mine only lastet 4000km!

So you can´t get the new pulley on to the supercharger? I had the same problem and that is why i did not show it in the video as it was not a pretty sight seeing me struggle... What I did was: I added a pice of fine sandpaper(grain 400) on to a drill and rolled in on to the same size as the hole on the pulley. Carefully i used it to sand the hole in the pulley. Be carefull as this is a press fitt. You will not take of to much!!!!!! After that i heated the oven again and then it worked! I did a little trick just to make sure it stayed there. I gave it a small spotweld at the corner on the supercharger axle...
