I just finish seeing the movie, "The Whale" Wòw..what a movie and performance by Brandon. Oscar deserved. But as i read the comments..i see some holier-than-thou commets. They never learn. The fanatics. What people failed to see is the horrible pain western religion continues to inflict on gay men. I had the honor to mèet many gay men who Sadly committed suicide due to severe depression and outcasts they endure quietly in pain.. just because of whò they choose to care about. Gay people are one of the greatest human beings i have meet. Gay people love as deep if not sometimes more than heterosexual people. Many times at their own expense and own life. I took care of an elderly gay man. He ended giving half of his life savings trying to help troubled youth. With nothing in return other than just friendship and hope that the troubled youth could have a chance at living a normal life. The other half he gave to his financially poor nieces. I hope one day gay men are seen for their character, what they do for others, the kindness, and love they give to others. RIP My dear friend. This movie seems like a mix of hopefulness and tradgety. An interesting approach to storytelling. Though, it would have also been nice if charlie was able to change his mind about giving up on life, wanting to live to fix his mistakes himself.

This is one of the best films I have watched for years. So glad Brendan Fraser won an Oscar for his amazing performance as Charlie.
