Toika has a second beam kit and that is probably the best way to do it. If you don't want to buy theirs, you can look at how they did it and make it yourself.

Sorry...I have no had to move my loom. I've only had it for almost 4 years. Right now, it's on furniture sliders so I can shift it in the room. But if I had to disassemble, I'd need help to get the dobby down (it really does require 2 people because it's attached to the two wood supports). I can remove the shafts myself and honestly, if I had to take the frame apart myself, I'd do the reverse of what I did - put the clamps on then pop the wedges and use the walls to support the loom once the first side is off, then remove the warp/back beams. Clearly, this whole thing is easier with two people and if I have a choice, I'll do it with two. I just had no choices by the time I got the loom.

@@MitzyGoose Thanks. I just wasn't sure how easy/feasible it would be to disassemble or move this kind of loom. I was looking at one second hand recently. It doesn't have the dobby part but I was like "how would i even get this home?"

@@MrThom8804 The primary issue is having a vehicle large enough for the side frames. The rest of the parts are fairly easy, unless you have a Mazda Miata or VW Bug.

So what happens when the threading is done? How does one go back to the original pattern?

You need to keep a copy of the original draft. Then, you close the treadle the threading version and reopen the original version to start weaving.

I'm very new to my dobby loom and this doesn't seem to work for me. When I go to clear the tie up, that was not a choice for me, so I cleared the lift plan which seemed to do the same thing. Next was clearing the threading, again that was not a choice for me. Where a line tool was used to make a diagonal line, again not a choice for me. So what am I doing incorrectly? Thanks

You need to use Tie Up and Treadling in the Options menu if you want to use the tie up (the diagonal line)

Do you know of any way to change font colour in Alpha Tricks? I have a few purchased .bx fonts and one or two letters in the alphabet are a different colour. Rather than having to change them each time I use it, I wondered if there is a way to do it permanently.

Yes...but you have to decide if it's worth it to you. 1) Backup the original font files, JUST IN CASE. 2) Let's assume your H is a different color and you want to "fix" it. Type a letter in the "correct" color. Make SURE you know what color(s) that is (write it down or else you'll be doing this again!) 3) Create a new file. In Embrilliance, type an H so that you have a design that is just that letter. Make it the color you want (same as the other letters) Save the embroidery file of the H. 4) Go into alphatricks, delete the H. Then Add Design, select the embroidery design of the H. 5) Now, You may need to remap ALL of the letters to the correct letter of the alphabet (numbers and symbols too). Note, it always adds new stuff to the end. I haven't figured out how to move it to be in alphabetical order. If you use the font alot and manually correcting the color(s) of that letter is a pain so that it "sorts" together and embroiders without stopping, maybe this is worth it to you. We had to test it a few times and after all that, we'd be selective about "fixing" because it's a pain! We'd only fix "commonly used fonts" and just suck it up if we had to do a particular letter here and there.
