Rain fly?? Nice review and nice tent. I do favor the 8 person Wenzel Klondike. It's screened porch actually has a floor to it and all the screens on the porch section can be closed for privacy and rain. Only downfall of the one I mentioned if it flaps around a bit much in the wind. What ever tent people choose to get, get some heavy duty steel stakes and replace all the lines with brightly colored (yellow, pink, orange) parachord lines.

AWESOME! ur2.pl/2312 It is a very spacious tent, pretty sturdy as well. The only issue I had was the winds were very strong in AZ and one of the poles snapped, so I have to contact the seller to find out how to replace it. Other than that, great tent!!

How big is the bag that it comes in? I have a Ford Focus and want to make sure that it will fit in my car :)

Just got this. Looks flimsy have you had it up in the wind? How's the waterproofing on the shell? I see alot of people spray it with something for added insurance

You get what you pay for. One of the corner frame poles snapped off right at the hinge, and because it's a cheap Chinese product you can't find replacement materials anywhere. I guess we got a good dozen or so uses out of this tent, and it is indeed nice and roomy. I would not buy it again unless at extreme discount, and even then don't plan on it lasting.

If you have to spray it with campdry it isn't a good tenpt. I love camp dry (by KIWI- found in the shoe dept. at Walmart) but the tent should NOT need it. Also, it looks like you will get pretty wet without a rainfly. In eastern states even the dew at night will soak you with only the screen top. I have done a lot of tenting. Janet.

I watched a video featuring a Black Diamond bivy last night where the reviewer explained that Black Diamond and a few other makers tape the inside of the seams, but not the outside and Black Diamond includes a tube of seam seal so the user can seal the seams when they get the tent. Found the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4CZf3-MYsemn7c

Thanks for the review. Nice and roomy I bought one last year. We had a bad thunderstorm come the second day out, it was dry but could not hold up to the wind. Woke up 2am to the one wall in my face. Restaked and tighten up the guide lines only to have it start to collapse again. I had more strings that I brought with me to keep it standing. After our 7 days out when to break it down to find oiut the wind had caused the poles in the roof to snap and rip the lug off the roof and one the front of the screen house part and one of the back poles snapped at the curve heading to the roof. My friend camping next to me had the Ozark instant up and he weathered the storm with no problems. He was the one who put on more lines while I was away from the tent to keep it standing in the light to medium winds after the storm. Was a nice tent and people kept stopping by commenting on it but in med gust winds and sustained winds it just could not hold up. Lucky for me I got my money back.

Lost an instant tent due to sustained heavy wind, but the guy lines definitely help. Make sure to set them at 45 degree angles from the corners, also. If only one pole snaps or twists, you can get replacement poles from Ozark Trail, usually.

Thank you for the video! What did you think of the air mattresses that came with it? I'm seeing a great deal at Walmart for $184 for the bundle. Is the tent still holding up?

thanks for the review. can the screen room be closed off so that no rain gets in, or is it mesh only.

No, but you could get a tarp and cover the screening. I don't recommend that if there is much wind, though. No wind, you could use a lightweight clear plastic drop cloth over it. Clip it on with light spring clamps.

I found one of these tents on EBay. I won it with a bid of $75. I set it up by myself after watching this video and only took about 10 minutes. With help it would probably only take about 5. It looks like a well-made tent.

Just a follow-up for ya. I purchased this tent. Used it a few times now. Last time it rained well for pretty much for 4 days with no leaks or issues. My son and I pitched camp close to the water and we had some strong winds come through. The tent held up great. The only issue I have is I wish the screen room came with an attached floor. Either way throwing down a tarp takes care of it. All in all this is a great tent for the price.

Great to hear! Yes, I agree that a floor for the screen room would be nice. I'm going to buy a tarp and make my own floor.

I have this exact tent. Bought it when it first came out. If you plan on using this tent during winter or fall with a Mr. Buddy heater look else where. This tent can not retain heat because the screen room shares a roof with the main tent and air will just flow out the mesh via screen room. I have the 8 man instant tent and my Mr. Buddy easily heats it up with in minutes, the rain fly does a good enough job for heat to be retained. Sucks because I really liked having the screen room.

Try putting a tarp on top and then the rain fly. it will hold the heat in better.

Thanks for your vid. I'm a combat disabled Veteran and was shopping for a new tent. We have 2 dome style tents, one Coleman 6p and a 3rm Ozark Trail 12p we only each used twice in dry conditions and now up for resale. I needed a larger instant tent because of my condition. Your vid convinced me to get this tent. We set it up yesterday and I sprayed the seams with sealant. It took my wifey and I a little longer to set up but, it was expected. The tent is outstanding and is perfect for our little family. As far as I'm concerned this tent is a perfect choice for a family of 4 or a couple that likes a lot of room for their own. Well again thanks for the post and happy camping. God bless America and her Troops.

Does the tent have hook at the top of the tent where you can hang a lantern or fan?
@markp4070
@markp4070 9 жыл бұрын
Hayleigh Jenkins There is a loop at the top of the tent so a lantern can't be attached. Unless the lantern has a hook. Only something with a hook can be attached to the roof
