My former coach Kiira Korpi 🇫🇮 thank you for uploading. Love that her dress matches her country's flag and the program is lovely too!

In spite of Bobek's problems (two falls and a bad flutz), I love how she skates with tremendous power and huge glide. If she got it together and skated cleanly, she probably would have ran away with the world title.

I mean being tall. Height obviously can be short or tall.

A/P 5.8/5.8, FP/M 5.7/5.8, B/K 5.7/5.7, L/A 5.6/5.7, D/V 5.7/5.6 in the long program. Close call between L/A and D/V, D/V skated better than L/A (and maybe even B/K) but I personally would penalize them somewhat for going back to last year's program

The male commentator was really rude calling Carolina Kostner “gangly.” If women are too fat, they’re criticized. If they’re too thin, they’re criticized. Jerk.

I know Angela wasn't consistent, but I thought she was remarkable here and I don't understand so many low marks here. Her program was easy on the eyes; the speed and movements were harmonious (some skaters look like they are going too slow because they are very tall [Tonia]; everything just lined up nicely - it was clean....I don't get it. Maybe she didn't do as many hard jumps? But that 3Lz was GREAT!

Arrrghhh....Jill bugged me. She won Nationals but wanted ALL OF THE MEDAL ATTENTION! 2nd and 3rd place people ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GET ANY ATTENTION! Then she goes to Worlds where other skaters are technically better. A few of them, really. Jill had, I think, a triple flip and that was the hardest triple she could do. Then is all mad because other skaters are beating her that were MUCH BETTER TECHNICALLY. She went the artistry route (like Kwan did later) and that can help sometimes but not against someone who is MILES ahead of you technically (Ito...she luckily hit her peak right before Tonya Harding did or I think she would have just quit altogether!). Jill was beautiful on the ice and kind of solidified the whole "ice princess" thing - later skaters like Oksana Baiul looked up to her for that - but I just got so frustrated that she wouldn't focus on perfecting/improving technique!!! (Sorry to complain about something from 34 years ago!)

Watching this again, I notice - 1) Tiffany's skating doesn't seem to match the music selection. Maybe it's the lack of speed like Dick mentioned, idk, but Tiffany seems to be skating a sensitive, graceful ballet-like program that isn't commensurate with the loud, fast, classical selection (which I can't quite put my finger on atm). It feels disconnected, almost as if the sound engineer played the wrong tape! So the 5.7s seem a little high to me. 2) I remember reading/watching something about Debi getting the chance for some secondhand dance/ballet training via Baryshnikov later towards the Olympics, but her slow, purposeful moves during the Schumann section were really quite gorgeous and lyrical already! 3) Caryn has to be one of the most poised, polite personalities I've ever seen in sports...
