Blimey mate! Did you remortgage the house. Some mega purchase lately. I'm so glad all this has gone to good hands. You know that once you're no longer of this earth, there will be a museum named after you housing your collection. Just like with Ken Hawley.

That’s the name of the game trying to preserve them for the future. You’re just a custodian for a small amount of time. Most of these items More than 100 years old and they’ve had many owners in their lifetime thanks for watching buddy
@rafo6577Күн бұрын
@tooladdict7463 100% agree. I've been collecting, restoring, and using old and vintage tools all my life. It's always in my thoughts about how many hands have used them before, what they may have worked on, etc. I like yourself, want to preserve them for future generations to enjoy and use. Man, after my own heart, that's for sure. Cheers 👍

I am pretty sure that was the largest possible score of adjustable wrenches that could be had until now. Now YOUR collection is the largest possible score! You have the responsibility for the safekeeping of a large part of industrial history. You have the power to promote that history. What will you do with it? Maybe you could take hi-resolution images and render them in 3D so you could make a virtual museum where people can view any wrench in 3D? Just out of curiosity, what did you have to pay for all those wrenches? Did you and Alex split it?
@tooladdict74632 күн бұрын
yes I bought the whole collection on my own and paid for it in full. Alex took a few for his collection of course like he always does. I am thinking of doing an online museum but I’m not very technological. You might gathered James from the state of my videos, but I will possibly do something in the future if I get the time it would be nice if somebody had that ability he was enthused and would like to do it. I would even be happy to pay them. I reckon to get something up online.

Nice restuaration :) In Norway, The Kongsberg Weapons factory started production of the exact same tools after WW1. The only difference is that they are marked "Made in Norway" and "Kongsberg No 90-94". I have them, and the 91 has gotten me out of many situations with rounded/rusted nuts on several cars. The No91 is always in my toolbox, something I learned from my dad who always had his old Bahco 140 with him. I also use the Bahco 31-T, on pipes/lines and the thin caliper nuts ,and the Cromna S3 and S4 on hard to get to bigger bolts. Haven't found the S1 and S2 with a "Made in Norway"-stamp, but I se there are English, Swedish, Danish and French versions on ebay. They are awesome, and a much better design than the older one that Wera has now copied. Do you have any information on how to determine the age of Bahco pipe wrenches, as I suspect it will give me a pointer on how old my Kongsberg tools are?

Hi Ben, favourite has to be the coach wrench. The cutter, judging by the age, would they have had cables of that size? With the handles made of brass could they have been for maybe lead pipe, being soft, armoured cable would be too strong? Just my thinking. Thanks as always. 👍👍👍✌️
