i got my tooth taken out yesterday (lower molar) and the blood clot is large like its big. I wanted to ask if this is normal.

Wow! Great video-I also wished my Dr had mentioned to wet the gauze. I’m 24 hours post op (4 extractions, both bottom teeth impacted) but my tongue is still numb. My doctor said he’ll call in a steroid, are there any non steroidal treatments that you recommend?
@DrPaulsDentalWorld3 күн бұрын
Vitamin b12 has been shown to possibly help, otherwise the steroid is probably best bet for now

Doc, I’ve had an impacted wisdom tooth removal surgery .. it was a bit difficult and the oral surgeon had to cut the tooth in 3 pieces. I’m on day 3 and still can’t brush my teeth because opening my mouth is so hard. I only clean my mouth in the morning with the buccal disinfectant I got from the surgeon, and I use it after I eat as well until I am able to brush my teeth again. I am also a bit swollen still. I want it gone because I leave my country to go back to the us the first of February and today is January 14. Do you think I have some time to recover and also enjoy with my family the last few days? Any other tips?

Hi Dr.paul trying to improve my tongue posture and was wondering if you have any products or treatments that could help me feel a better connection between my tongue and the roof of my mouth. Specifically, something I can apply to the hard palate, like a sticky substance or similar solution.

hi doc! i hope you'll see this and respond. i'm terrified of getting lower wisdoms out purely because of fear of dry socket... could you please tell, according to ur experience, what are the chances maybe in percentage of dry sokcet in a lower wisdom tooth in someone who strictly follows post op instructions, doesn't have underlying illness and isn't on OC, and non smoker. oh plus the tooth is fully erupted but has a cavity. your response will mean the world! :)

5% is what the research tells us about the incidence of dry socket. This number will decreases with the things that you listed above 👌

@DrPaulsDentalWorld25 күн бұрын
You can use mouthwash after 24 hours from the tooth being taken out. Just do it gently on the area so you don't cause it to bleed more

This can make it easier to remove and sometimes without operation, however in some cases when the roots of the tooth are all in different directions then it may make it more difficult

I had my jaw open as wide as possible. Doctor yanked the tooth and I felt, heard a noise in my jaw. I have had TMJD ever since. Biggest regret of my life.
@DrPaulsDentalWorldАй бұрын
How long ago was that? Has it improved? Are you doing anything for it?
@Brizzo200Ай бұрын
He didnt loosen the tooth like you did before using the clamping tool. He just clamped and twisted with my mouth at full opening. I extended my jaw as wide as possible, i thought i was doing him a favor. Little did I know that when he cranked my jaw would now have no room to stretch or whatever the case was, its possible he pushed on the bone that you mentioned slides next to the wisdom tooth at full mouth opening position. Your strategy makes the most sense.
@Brizzo200Ай бұрын
@DrPaulsDentalWorld maybe 4 or 5 months ago.

@@DrPaulsDentalWorld nothing to do for it. No improvement. Il probably off myself if the pain never goes away and my jaw becomes arthritic over time. I told the doctor he just gaslighted me for the most part. Mentioned a night guard says its probably because im clenching. Oh yeah what a coicidence I develope tmjd from "clenching" right after this surgery. No its beyond clenching, something got damaged, thats what my body is telling me, thats whats it feels like mechanically. Anyways nobody will ever give a shit whats done is done. Just another instance of going to the doctor for a simple procedure and leaving with a chronic injury and pain. No follows ups can ever fix the situations. Best to make sure you are going to the most experienced doctor and ask questions before any procedure and weigh the pros cons, risks and rewards. This shit ruined my life, I would rather my wisdom teeth be rotting in my mouth then this TMJD. They werent even that bad in the first place, only a bit of irritation on one tooth. It didnt warrant pulling out all 4
