I think my favorite part of the movie is just the beginning where they spend as much time as possible to allow is to soak in the ambiance of the abandoned park during the daytime. Not a lot of people highlight it, but it was very influential to me and I frequently rewatch the movie just to watch those first 20 minutes. It affected my art, writing, love of ruins, fascination with abandoned parks, how I would animated children if I could freaking draw, you name it. The second best bit for me is the building up to Yubaba flying off on her mission at dawn, and the third is the downpour and the calmed bathouse after the eventful night. If anything I would just love ambience vids of just these. Would be amazing backdrops for painting my models.

My Neighbor Totoro holds a special place in my heart as well. As a child, I was captivated by the whimsical and enchanting world that Studio Ghibli created - from the fluffy and lovable Totoro, to the magical Catbus and the lush, vibrant forest that serves as the backdrop for the story. Watching it now as an adult, I'm transported back to those carefree days of my childhood, and I'm filled with a sense of joy and wonder that never fails to bring a smile to my face. It's incredible how a film can have such a profound impact on us, and My Neighbor Totoro is a testament to the power of storytelling and imagination. Thank you, Studio Ghibli, for creating such a beautiful and timeless masterpiece that will continue to inspire and delight audiences for generations to come.
