such an important topic, the last ⅓ of our days. Life the life we can, be happy.

While watching this I kept thinking an objective judgment was being made on the unwanted things - rather than them being the deceased subjective dislikes. This split my focus on the actual message of documenting and honouring the deceased wishes.

This a lovely, moving film. Talking about dying is important for us all. It's not about saving money. it's about what is better. We can be saved from death but feel life is unbearable if we are in pain, immobile, depressed, isolated. Taking control of our last moments of life is empowering.

More people talk about birth than death which is unfortunate.

Thanks. It's important to have early educated DNAR discussions with patients and their family, especially those whose life expectancy is guarded.

Can you add English subtitles? I'd like to use this for non-native speakers and the speed and accent (plus additional sound) make it difficult to catch all the dialogue, even for myself.

Superb film. We need a cultural change about our views towards death. We can't avoid the inevitable.

It makes sense to have DNR orders in some cases but I think this is rather misleading. If someone is in a shockable cardiac rhythm it's pretty unlikely they will be able to feel pain. The reason to decide not to perform resuscitation is not about pain due to resuscitation itself - it's about the suffering which could come after that and the futility of prolonging life for only a few days.

how should I feel if my friend choose to die in front of me,in my apartment
@larry-naylor4 жыл бұрын
You won't know thar until it actually happens but the most important thing to remember is to honour whatever you feel. When Damien, my partner, died I remember feeling a whole range of emotions but guilt was the predominant one. I felt like I had done enough for him in life and by dying he was saying I wasn't good enough. It was totally irrational because he died suddenly of a massive traumatic brain injury but it was how it felt. I sat with the emptiness and guilt for a year and a half to give myself time to process it and then chose to go onto medication to help with the depression and sense of loss. It was hard but worthwhile. 5 years on and I'm in a much better place but I still miss him every day.

Taking care for my most beloved friend for years, I also didn't know how to talk, how to start talking, so I always just started, out of the blow-like and it ended up very honest, very good relating and we did everything how he wanted till the very end of his life and also a part after leaving the body...

It's always better to talk than try to read a loved ones mind about what you want for 'when the time comes'...far better to talk BEFORE that time comes so everyone's prepared :-)

Hi Alex, many thanks for your feedback. We don't have this particular film available to buy currently because, as a short film, it's too expensive to produce as an individual title. However, we are looking into producing a compilation DVD, on which this would be included. If/when we progress this, will post the news here.
