I wish all breeders would take the long term genetic health of dog breeds as seriously as Steadfast seems to do. I’m particularly saddened to see GSD’s that look, in my opinion, to be bred into a crippled state, having a permanent slope to their backs and a crouch in the hind legs. Compared to historic photos, we know the breed has changed dramatically and not for the better.

There are other breeds that are also developing into "show" line vs "working" line. The difference becomes so dramatic that the original working dog line can no longer win in the show ring when judges are looking for something fancy-schmancy. We're trying to keep that from happening with Standard Schnauzers. In our opinion, the working dog look - and the working dog temperament - should continue to be the dog we take to conformation shows.

I've found that when I have the whelping box in our upstairs carpeted bedroom, no heat source is more comfortable for mama and the puppies. Her body heat plus the cover over the box is enough. If I have them downstairs on our tiled area, I've used this under their bedding: amzn.to/46P5JhF

Really fun to watch! You must be so proud of Quincy! We (me and my 2 border collies) are in our first Farm Dog test this weekend so trying to get all the pointers that I can as well as figure out what passes/ fails as my boy is a bit rambunctious!
