I don't think I'd have a problem climbing those ladders if they had cages. But it looks to me like they're entirely open. Isn't there a law that states if a fixed ladder is higher than twenty feet, it requires a cage? I guess if you're tied off it would negate the need. I'd still feel safer with a cage, personally.
@SavannaEnergy10 жыл бұрын
Anyone who climbs the derrick is equipped with a harness and connected to the fall arrest system which prevents them from falling if they slip. Everyone who goes up the derrick must also be trained in fall protection.

I've been drilling Horizontal wells with Baker Hughes Coil tools on 2 3/8 or 2" coiled tubing since 1997, so I don't think you can say that you "Pioneered" Horizontal drilling with Coiled Tubing in 2002.

Really like your video's, But i was wondering if you could make a video about the living quarters, or if theirs pictures i could see somewhere? Looks like a great company, thanks for sharing!
@SavannaEnergy10 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Many of our rig hands are local and return home each night, some stay in camps and others are given a living allowance and stay in hotels - it all depends on where your rig is located.

Savanna Energy What's the average salary for a roughneck?

Never back We base our rates on the industry standard where we operate. In Canada, we follow the recommended rates from the CAODC, found here: www.caodc.ca/wage-schedules

So I'm going to be a new father. Being home is important but making more then minimum wage is an asset. Are you guys still running service rigs? Cause drilling seems to be shut down right now .
@SavannaEnergy9 жыл бұрын
ar mz Congratulations! Yes, the industry is certainly slower than usual but we are still running rigs. Keeping work for our current crews is our first priority, but you are welcome to apply for a position through our website: www.savannaenergy.com/careers

What is the one meter long rod that they pulled out of the top joint and inserted into the joint to be added to the drill string?
@SavannaEnergy10 жыл бұрын
Hi Kelli, that is a pipe screen. It stays in the top stand of drill pipe and acts as a filter for drilling fluid.

It takes forever, I have h2s, first aid and a vehicle. I applied in 2013 and 2014, AND even worked on a service rig just for my resume, and still haven't heard from them... Not as easy to get on as you think. Good luck.

Rob Williams Agreed. Ive applied many times now, completely qualified, never the slightest response from them. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I am of aboriginal decent, not from alberta. But I was wondering if these benefits apply to status natives? like the work shops? would I be able to attend one of these tours around the rig? thanks for reading.

I've been on the rigs several times with TK Stanley during rig moves. Their some of the most easiest, pain free rigs to move. Just need a single tandem bedtruck to skid it ( in most cases) Just pull the cat walk and doghouse
