Done the brakes yesterday, working perfectly now. For those struggling, go slow, take photos. This is an intermediate level repair (imo) for the average person. Be patient, have a comfortable and clean workspace. Inspect everything to see how it all works and how it is put together. As a bonus I discovered my pedals were already modded by the previous owner!

Just finished cleaning all three, the throttle was the worst offender but i decided to do everything for good measure. I used a dedicated potentiometer cleaning/conservation spray instead, and it worked like a charm. The pedals feel like new!!

I did a similar idea, i am using a piece of wine bottle cork (50%) in the bottom, a piece of soft pecil eraser (25%) and nothing else (25%) it feels fantastic for the money. The only cons is that the displacement is short now. Maybe the linear potentiometer (is the pressure progresive?) is better but expensive compared with this 25 Cents (usd)

The MVH and GTEYE springs are made to the same spec afaik. The deadzone issue that you talk about actually affects PC users as well, because the deadzone is in the pedal firmware and can't be changed at all.

If you took the trouble to remove the potentiometer, just replace it with a new one of the same resistance value. Theses things are dirt cheap (like US$1) , there's really no point in trying to disassemble & clean.

For those asking about measurements: it’s basically any spring that has an outside diameter that fits inside the main brake spring and can still move freely - you can eyeball this. The thing to pay attention to is wire thickness (thicker = stiffer) and how many coils it has (less coils = more stiff). From the video, it looks like the wire diameter is 3mm, which should be very close to the wire diameter of the main spring. Playing around with spring length, washers, and wire diameter will fine tune the brake feel. The washers themselves don’t add stiffness, it just changes the amount of force required for the inner spring to start to compress when load is applied while you brake. Hope that helps!

After doing this procedure my pedals are working great so far! I only have one small issue, my pedal wont go past 95% but its no big deal since I recalibrated it. I just have a quick question, is there any trick to reassemble the potentiometer fully centered so I get the full range of motion detected? I assembled it as shown in the video paying attention to detail but it seems kinda hard to get it 100% on the right position

Looking at the videos for the MVH Studios spring, you installed yours upside down. Similar to the GTEYE spring, the coils that are close together are on the bottom, away from the pedal.

This right here I tried but really the best solution is to just get the AXC sim brake mod and potentiometers since the pots are sealed on both of them meaning no cleaning is provided. I’m getting both of them this coming Friday so yeah. Everybody that owns the Logitech g29/g920/g923 should get this mod really the price for both is very affordable and you don’t have to clean it since once again the pots are sealed so no dust can’t go in really. Anyways yeah everybody from all over uses it and it’s been reviewed to be VERY GOOD which is why I ordered both recently so just go for it everybody!!!

Static electricity, attracts dust n all kinds of shit particle. Just look at the back of your TV's! So... Regular maintenance/cleaning is a must part of your racing. Use anti static cleaning materials and always... Dry Electrical contact cleaner. Not oil based lubricant, such as WD40 as oil, attracts more of what you are trying to avoid.

@Akira-kd6us

you check the input of each pedal and if any of them is flickering, it's time for you to clean the pots. Honestly, you should just clean all of them since you made the effort to take it apart. But that's IF you are confident in yourself that you can do it without braking it, if not just let someone else do it or spray the cleaners from the gap of those pots instead while pumping the pedals.

I have an idea that I want to test before buying this. I want to test that if you put the camera very close to the screen, on a level directly above the car dashboard (or in case of GTS anywhere), would it still work? I mean to put the camera nearly touching the TV in that spot, so that it doesn't pick up the overall tone of the image but only 1 spot. Do you think you can test that and make a video about it?

Seeing from a different video, I just opened the enclosing of the pedals and sprayed and cleaned the break potentiometer several times without unscrewing anything and it works perfectly.
