I always have wondered why the US Police have such huge and bulky motorbikes? I ride a BMW and completely understand why the UK Police chose them. Easy to manoeuvre, very stable, quick and not too heavy. Those US bikes look like they'd be seriously hard to ride.

this was cool to see the dirt roads you rode up there by Perkins tower, thats my favorite park to ride around in. Arden Valley road, Kanawauke rd and the section of 7 lakes going towards the inn. Really great roads around there. 2014 Yamaha Stryker is my ride but I just take it easy.

I enjoyed the video great job. In many Asian countries where there’re more motorcycles than cars people consider Harley-Davison motorcycles represent beauty, opulence and superior power.

If they put you on a BMW tomorrow you would be thrilled, I don't know one cop that wouldn't trade that in a hot second. The reason the police used to ride Harley's is because it was all marketing by Harley "the only thing Harley does good" But back to the point Harley was leasing bikes to the police for $1.00 a year. Cheap for the police and great marketing for Harley. Personally I think Harley is the worse bike made today. I've owned a few of them but never again.....And I'm not angry just truthful...I would love to get paid to ride a motorcycle all day

Why Harley? Resale value. When the CHP rode Kawasaki 1000s they were worth almost nothing when they sold them afterward. The Harleys are always worth good money.

Jumping is the easy part. Landing a 900lb harley on street tires in grass, that's the hard part.

Harley Haters are a dime a dozen and a yawn to listen to. I'm on a Heritage that I absolutely LOVE! but if someone gets their kicks on a Bonneville, a Goldwing or dressed up like a Power Ranger on a Crotch Rocket, it's all for the love of 2 wheels.

I had a relative Eugene Dobson who was a motor officer in Yonkers. I remember seeing him in a diner by the raceway with the winged wheel patch on his left sleeve and T.D. collar brass and oh that big beautiful Harley.

Why do motorcycle cops ride those tanks? I know to some extent you need to be able to hold gear but those bikes are unnecessarily heavy and bulky in my mind. Anyone know of specific reasons?

I don't feel you answered the question in the title. You didn't list any pro's of the brand over other brands. For instance the low center of gravity really helps in slow maneuvering. Those Kawasaki's never seem to win the motorcycle rodeos because they're unstable.

The reason your on a Harley is because the motor company gives the department the bike for nothing or a $1 lease and does the maintenance .

This is so sad. It makes me so mad that these days people are hating on law enforcement and its excepted. These men and women endanger themselves just doing their job and nobody protests for them. They protest for the people that hate officers. Its sick. I hope it changes. Thankyou to all law enforcement who keep doing their jobs no matter how nuts things are now. Stay safe and God bless
