I honestly do not see the appeal of using a move such as supernova. That one was so convoluted and really not thematic of the game at all. Sephiroth is the diet coke of evil.

Aeris is the spirit creator of the reality in FF7. Explains why she's featured in the opening cutscene and why she's in the lifestream (spirit world) & the lifestream itself. She can be seen as the 'mother' in the story who's the creator of spirits (enemies & people: when they die they return to the lifestream). When she died she returns to the lifestream and Cloud inherits her spirit to fulfill her will which is to destroy the world & make it new. Her death is where Sephiroth takes over to influence Cloud. Cloud (neutral) & sky (good). Sephiroth (bad) is from the Kabbalah, an esoteric occultic teaching of god in the mind through an ascension process. Cloud is guided by vengeance (negative; chaos) and Aeris (positive; order) to destroy the world so Aeris can remake it, through order out of chaos, destroying evil from within the protagonist who's the one experiencing Aeris' reality. Safer Sephiroth is "god" incarnate: sky, cloud & Sephiroth. A trinity; an amalgamation of good, neutral & evil. Also an amalgamation itself of man & beast which i will get to later. A clue to his identity is the vesica pisces (halos) behind his head which esoterically represents two becoming one where the middle is the 'sun': "god", signifying the peak of the ascension process of the Kabbalah. It further represents he has become 'enlightened'. The two who led to Safer's creation are Cloud & Aeris. Cloud from his vengeance who destroyed Sephiroth's other forms so he can achieve godhood & Aeris who allowed him to achieve vengeance in the first place. Safer brings everything unto himself in eternity, and when he's defeated by Cloud his human from within Cloud manifests, revealing that he has been guiding him all that time. Cloud enters the spirit realm to defeat evil (sin) within himself and upon defeating him the lifestream is opened to reveal Aeris who created the entire reality, fulfilling her will. It all starts again to reveal animals which are the amalgamations of man & beast, esoterically signifying man "returning to nature", like that dog character Red. Game is basically an infinite loop when you think about it.

Fun fact Ehrgeiz was an arcade game that had a ps1 port with playable ff7 characters. Ehrgeiz as Zells weapon is definitely a nod to that.

I remember my friend showing this to me when we were kids and saying that these were the best graphics ever. I was like 😮

So for those who beat the game, What was your experience like? I remember being ...was it lev 29, 39, or 49? It was forever ago...I didn't grind or anything, while I did explore quite a bit I played through the story line quite frequently. I remember that I had found most if not all of the Final Limit Breaks save Cloud's but could not use them on anyone. I didn't have any of the W-Materia, no Mastered Materia, never got a gold chocobo, I had all the bahamuts, no mime, and all that and I didn't know at the time about Enemy Skills that you could miss if you didn't Control the enemy or that there were like one or two on the way to the last fight that you literally only had one chance to acquire.. My party consisted of Cloud, Vincent, and Cait Sith. I spent at least an hour on the fight and pretty early on I used Vincent's Limit Break ( Was it the one with the hockey mask? whatever was before his Final Limit or maybe I did have his final, I don't recall ) So I only had control of two characters the whole fight and I spent like a third of the fight with Cait dead and Cloud as a frog. At some point I was finally able to restore Cloud, Revive Cait, and start putting a hurting on Sephiroth. At some point though, Cloud and Cait Sith died and I had to set down the controller and watch Sephiroth and Vincent Battle it out. At one point I realized that no matter what attack Sephiroth did next that Vincent was going to bite the dust and I'd have to do the whole fight over again and I had already spent so long fighting him. Vincent dunked on him in his next attack and beat him, I had never felt such hoy at beating a boss at that moment.
