I have one of these engines,I can't get a spark...just wondering if you have a diagram you would like to share with me? This has got me stumped,my engine is mounted on a green machine 3-wheeler,(made for doing doughnuts) thank you for making a video of one that is running out of the frame.

they were infamous for burning up CDI units. They were around $45/pop back in 1983. I pried the tag off the cylinder head, the one with the 0.5 bhp rating, & tossed it. Found that 1/2hp rating funny. Oh well. I'd try to convert it to chainsaw points if it is a McCulloch engine.

Could you off-road on one of these?

I love my sabre! Got it a month ago as my first bike. Bogging is normal in these bikes since the bing carb is actually too big for the engine meaning that getting a bore kit to get the engine up to 60cc should in theory fix bogging.

These bikes make a really unique cafe racer. 120 big bore kit available. Growing up,my brother had a65 version.Could not kill that motor. We put that motor in a CT70. Only one in town with a manual clutch.

I was just gifted one exactly like this yesterday. I am watching as many videos on it as I can. Mine is even that same color. Thanks for posting.

I picked up an Allstate similar to this last year and haven't worked on it yet, so I started watching videos for this bike. The part I love is when I saw that your "auxiliary" tank was from a green metal flake Motron Medalist, which happens to be my favorite color of my favorite brand of moped. I have 14 Motrons and 5 of them are green Medalists.
1963 Honda 50 is a 4 stroke engine while Puch is a 2 stroke running with gas mixed with oil.

I have my Dads that has been stored inside since new untill present day so its in pretty good shape overall I would like to put it on the road and ride it as a tribute to him my one issue is i sufffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and my left hand has Limited movement so clutching would be a issue. I had hopes that i could put a auto or semiauto clutch pack in from the original Monkey bikes. But ive been told the cases are different and it wont fit so I’m still searching for possible solutions keeping it period correct Honda original parts Preferably to maintain it stock as much as possiblhone someone said put a Lifan on it but i dont want that as. Ive owned and riddden several Honda bikes in my life as well as cars, generators, lawnmower and some small engines on a variety of construction tools like trash pumps and pressure washers and so on overall i like Honda products

I still have my S90 that I bought new in 1965. Has been in storage for last 18 years. Two buddies and I all bought the same exact bikes and rode them all down and back from Connecticut down the I95 to Wild Wood NJ. What a weekend! We were able to get up to mid-60s and close to 70mph if we got up close to the back of a semi-trailer to catch the backdraft. Crazy but we were young. Great times great bike!

It depends on the type of crank you have, its either a 14x17x17 or 14x18x17 or if you have a BRN application.

I moved pipe on the dry farms in the summer of '66 to pay off my $250 S90 @ $25/week at the bank. Wished many times I'd kept it.

I was moving pipe on the dry farms in 1966 and took out my first ever vehicle loan at age 15 to buy my used S-90 for $250. Every Friday we'd cash our paycheck and I'd pay $25 on my loan. Before the summer was over I owned it free and clear and owned it until a black Honda 305 Dream with whitewall tires came along... At 17 in a small college town I often gave rides to all the college chicks living nearby. "Hold on really tight back there!" Ah, the memories..... :)

My dad bought one in 1965.. I rode it, loved it, of course. Bought my own, used in early 1970's (from JohnnieRoss MC dealer in Redding CA). Last time I rode it was 1982. -Cylinder gaskets were dried out, failing from sitting and non-use, started seeping oil into the cylinder. Haven't rode it since. I checked DMV online and it's only $76 to re-register. But I need to get it restored first. I never pushed it to see what it would max at, but I got in to the mid-60's mph on the new freeway. I don't understand why honda ever quit making some of their great bikes?! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! The Super Sport 90 wasn't the only great small bikes Honda made. Their trail bikes were fantastic! Their Scramblers awesome!

I had my s90 to a little over 70 mph and it is bone stock. No change in gearing or any engine modifications or fine tuning at all.

Thankyou. My motor bike days are well past now but often fancy a spin on a small one !! Will talk soon but going out now !! I would love one of these Honda S90 bikes now, lovely machines.

We always had our bikes in bits in those days, adding on bits and pieces and playing around with tuning them and making our own modifications. A lot of youngsters in uk cant even change the oil on their bikes, get a shop or dad to do it. Mechanical skills are a thing of the past,its all pc's and computer games now for teenagers.

My brother's CB450cc Black Bomber was recorded at going through the speed trap at 119mmh in the isle of man TT in 1967. Bikes can go a lot faster with a raise in gearing and tuning. Of course with higher gearing you need a long run in to attain high speeds like that and the acceleration is slower not so fast.
@no1knowledge11 жыл бұрын
I have just been looking at an original uk advert for these at the time the cost in uk was £143 for a brand new one, eg 1965. My friend had one of these and I passed my motor bike driving test on it. It was a great bike and he raised the gearing and did extensive tuning on it, once timed at 90mph flat on the tank on the M1 motorway in Uk. Yours sounds awful when it is running in this video, how much did it sell for ?
@Flies2FLL11 жыл бұрын
That was the WORST moped, and probably the WORST vehicle in history!
