The flamenco guitarists like Sabicas, Juan Serrano, Paco Pena,Pepe Romero have a much better tremolo than Paco De Lucia and sometimes, if it's necessasy , they can reach supreme speed too ,like Sabicas,a real king .I don't know why a lot of people put Paco De Lucia at numbe one ,basing on what ? Some people said that he created a new style in Flamenco ,a mixture between Flamenco and Jazz (or something like that ) Even if that was true ,It was enough to put him too high like that !

I would only get an hour per lesson he always gave me more because I would ask him to just play for me. I am talking about Fresno 1980's through the 90's. Watching him play this brings back such great memories.

I have been a fan of Senor Serrano since I was 12 years old (in 1960). I was browsing in the International Section of my local record shop one day, and came across an album with a cover that had a black background and a handsome young Spaniard playing a guitar. Juan Serrano was 26 at the time, and it was his first album. In the bio on the back, Mr. Serrano was described as a very talented young flamenco guitarist, who was going to be famous some day. I bought the album for two dollars, took it home, and listened to it on my parents' new Hi-Fi. I was enchanted, and became a fan of Mr. Serrano's instantly. That album has traveled the world with me, and I still have it at age 70. What a fantastic surprise to come across Mr. Serrano's music on KZbin! Thank you for posting this, Jeremy! With friendship and gratitude, Sally Vaughn

wow! so much respect for u! and ur love towards Serrano ! I discovered Juan Serrano in early2004 when I was kinda discovering Flamenco music! but still here on youtube hardly any info or videos? from the so many albums? like the art of the flamenco guitar album! can not find it anywhere. very little info here, same as the song: Patio gitano (Bulerias) I cant find.

I saw him in person many years ago at Santa Clara University. I too had an old LP from when he was very young and when I heard he was playing locally I jumped at the chance. I lost track of him and later learned that he was a professor of music at Fresno State University for many years.

When I was a Senior at CSU Fresno in 2002-3, i took beginning guitar as an elective course for art credit (and bc i love guitar but never had the chance to learn much on my own.) Serrano is an absolute GENIUS! He is an incredible teacher, engaging, enthralling, humurous, humble, and TALENTED! We sat in a somewhat small area around him in the class, and it was incredible to see him this in person twice a week for 5 months! I am forever grateful!
