44:40 Bingo. Nail in the coffin for Truth = History. Historians often neglect to name the criteria backing their evaluations; but John’s Gospel names his (Christ). And yet, the historians referenced are praised for candor and critical acumen. Compared to John, they’re suckers or snake oil salesmen, one or the other.

Thank you so much to those who arranged this. I soak up anything I can find with Rev. Prof. John Behr and this lecture did not disappoint. I'm sitting in my class for psychology as I write this and I'm listening to Fr John while my class watches a film (fiction). I'm listening to him and trying to train that perspective that he's talking about -- where the "scales from the eyes" fall away and I can see the path of the New Man clearly. A truly brilliant theologian!

I’m reminded of the children’s stories of Pinocchio and The Velveteen Rabbit, in which the main characters become real only through being loved and offering their lives in loving sacrifice. May we all become real humans through transformation. St. Ireneus and St. Gregory were such amazing thinkers and writers! Thank you, Fr. John, for interpreting their profound insights!

Fr John Behr was the dean of St Vladimir's Seminary in New York State, but he is now at the University of Aberdeen. Fr Andrew Louth is professor Emeritus at the University of Durham and Fr John McGuckin was a professor at Union Theological Seminary, but I believe he retired.

@@Orthodoxcuber they are Eastern Orthodox. I think Fr John Behr is ROCOR, and Fr McGuckin is Romanian Orthodox, and I do not know what jurisdiction Fr Louth is under

I’m the pastor of a Black Church in the City of New York and a former student of Fr. McGuckin at Union Theological Seminary. His students LOVED him. His teaching, his generosity, his mind and his heart were second to none. It breaks my heart to hear him describe the state of church and religious education in our jaded/know it all world. He speaks a truth that we would do well to heed.

I was also fortunate enough to study with Father John McGuckin and echo your comments. At the time I was there, he was an like an oasis of in a desert of blinkered "progressive" academics.
