Seen P's Rambling break maiden at Dubuque. Special pup for sure. The crowds were noticeably larger when he raced. A true legend

There's a dog that ran at Lincoln Downs named subliner. He won 18 races in a row. Twice. He would have had these dogs for breakfast!

The best Greyhound I had the pleasure to watch race at Seabrook NH,was Skippy Scamp ,than came Four Point,once they hit 1st turn on top,go to the window

In the time of "CORONAVIRUS WORLD WAR - 3" in 2020 when your own life is at the hands of a invisible pandemic it's cinema and documentaries that breaks all barriers and provides solace and entertainment in the confines of a home.Was a punter at horse races having visiting race tracks across India and the Globe for over 25 years and now retired from the punting aspect of the sport.India does not have Greyhound racing and during my visit to Macau in 2005 got my first experience of seeing live Greyhound racing at the Macau Canidrome .The races were conducted in the evening under floodlights and found the crowd sparse .This video has explained the sport .Most Greyhound dogs are euthanized once found unfit for racing unless adopted as a pet by a dog lover .Read my blog :- macau-abackpackersgambollingtrek.blogspot.com/

I would have put Southland Greyhound Park's "Bella Infrared" up against this dog and waged my last dime on her! She has put Southland 583 yards record forever out of reach. She ran it in 31.14 seconds. Her record may be 20 straight wins.

Interesting historical video - I used to watch greyhounds with monkey jockeys in Mexico while growing up. The video says that greyhounds used to have jockeys - They still do! I guess if it is not in the USA, it does not exist? Look up "CARRERA DE LOS GALGOS CON CHANGUITOS" on youtube.

I had to dig back in my records, but I made an error in the dog's name and top speed. The fastest dog on record I am aware of is Black Shot. He ran 350 yards in 16.98 secs, or 42.16 mph average speed. This was 1976, at the Sanford-Orlando track. I haven't seen all of Miata's runs and records, but she HAS run 39.7 mph over 450 meters. I don't doubt she could have run over 40 mph in one of her record races. I may research that. I also have a time for His Paschesty, Phoenix 1962...40.6 mph

Brett Lee's average speed figures out to 39.8 mph... faster than Miata's run of 41.30 over 715 meters, which figures out to 38.6 mph. Miata may have better times. That said, the fastest greyhound record I have ever seen was from Black Dart. Australian dog I believe. He ran a shorter distance than the other mentioned, perhaps 350 yards, but his average speed figured out to 43.1 mph. If another greyhound has ever run that fast before, or since, I am unaware of it.

different surfaces too, Australia uses a more hard pack surface even grass for start ing at some tracks.

I don't know about that. My greyhound is the best dog in the world. His half brother is the second best. Oh...fastest Fox might not be quite as fast, but my boys are the best dogs I have ever had. They live the best life I can give them. They deserve to live like the elite athletes they are.

SORRY ALL YOU GREYHOUND RACING PEOPLE BUT THE FASTEST DOG EVER IN HISTORY IS AN AUSTRALIAN GREYHOUND CALLED BRETT LEE WHICH RAN 515 METRES OR 563 YARDS IN 28.88 SECONDS IN THE FINAL OF THE ADELAIDE CUP IN JANUARY 2001. HE HOLDS MANY TRACK RECORDS.

@@jasonwoodbury3717 We should be looking at time lines. The reporters are talking about USA dogs in 1986. Dogs like Brett Lee (OZ dog) wasn't around until the early 2,000's. That's 14 years later & most dogs will only race for a few years. Other dogs in OZ that stand out are Fernando Bale 2015 era & the 1st dog to crack $1 million AUD in prize money & retiring with almost $1.3 million & had 35 wins from 44 starts, including 16 wins back to back.. Soon eclipsed by Fanta Bale 2017 era who took around $1.36 million AUD. With greyhounds there will always be a faster dog eventually no matter what country you are in. For the the punter the all important thing is to have your money on the winning dog(s), not so easy for most races.

So sad - only 65 views and zero comments. Randy Birch helped make The Woodlands legendary during its run in KC!!! Great man, amazing race caller!!! Thank you for the upload!!! I have an amazing tribute to Mr. T-Bone on VHS - if I can get it transferred to DVD I will let you know - Mr. T-Bone was an amazing dog!!!
