I would have tryed to straighten that shaft. Those bend back easily if you can get a jack or chain on it. The bracket usually pushes back in place easily too.
@TMFarms2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that probably would've worked in the short term, but we ended up finding a local guy who made the shaft for $200, so now we don't have to worry about premature bearing failure or damage to the feeder house.

Why were they carrying square bales around the side of the hayrack?
@TMFarms3 жыл бұрын
They were doing that because we ended up borrowing our friends rack. He has a thrower on his baler and he ended up welding the front of the rack so we could not flip it. Our only option was to load from the side

Sometimes washing fertilizer equipment is more corrosive than blowing it off and keeping it dry. Keep an eye on it for awhile and make sure everything came clean.

Yeah I know what you mean, but it’s gonna get rained on anyways because we don’t have a building to store it in, so I think it might be better if all the dust is washed off immediately, instead of waiting for it to get rained on

Must have done something right, the paint didn't wash off with the power washer. Try your welder after it cools down, sometimes the thermal overload will kick out from exceeding the duty cycle.

Yeah, we tried the welder multiple times, and it still doesn't turn on, we're testing the circuit board now!

When we remove a disk gang we lower the entire unit down close to the floor and remove the hanger bolts from the rectangle tube. Then we raise up the disk and slide out the gang, hangers and all. You have two hanger bolts instead of three bearing bolts and it moves the hangers out of the way. During reassembly you can start the hanger bolts without having the gang lifted up completely tight against the frame. This allows you to adjust its position slightly.
@TMFarms3 жыл бұрын
I've never thought of that! That would make it easier, I might try that next time!
