If you believe me or not old zf gearboxes really sound like this without beeing broken. When you hear to an MAN NL 202 bus with zf its the same sound.

That 'nitrous' leaking sound is the turbo spinning too fast. This is why it would be slipping and clunking but going damn well. The usual code they chuck for this is MR1820(Overboosting turbo)

The best CNGs from Ryde are mostly ex-Waverleys for sure, some exceptions I can think of is 1844 that was always at Ryde and is quite fast and loud.

Runs pretty well, as are a good portion of PoBo’s gassies to be fair. Certainly better than the other gas depots although Ryde has a few standouts. Has m/o 4876 been out and about recently? Saw it on the corner of Flinder St at South Dowling a few months ago obscured in a cloud of steam as it puked its coolant out. You know, typical early O500LE things.

The majority of Ryde's good CNGs are ex-Waverley depot CNGs :) Around 2 months ago, I came across 4876 and took it, found it to be a pretty decent bus.

@@stabuses882Ah of course. Some of the Scania CNG units from brissy were repowered with Diesel engines, but ultimately that was just an expensive task for an already old bus.

I never liked these delicate bench seats and narrow windowsills, and found the ride very aggressive start-stop when these came out. Sitting on that exact seat, my favourite gag was to fall forwards and flop into the next row every time the driver slammed on the brakes. Naturally you can't muck around like that if there are people in that row, or anywhere nearby.

@@stabuses882 Yeah. The gearbox could be replaced or something. Or it might get a work differential.

@@Tpbusandtrainguy It’s not to do with the gearbox actually. The gearbox ECU regulates the power levels, hence someone really bumped the power in this lol. It isn’t really damaging to the gearbox, but it does really heat up the engine, which is why the fans are constantly on.
