Hi, I’m not sure if you watched all of my videos but this was my plan. I actually have a medical NEC that allows me to do a lot of Admin so it’s not terrible . However , I’m not sure when you joined. When I went to MEPS I was told by recruiters to take HM because my time to leave was so far out that I could change it . ( I didn’t know any better) as a corpsman now you can’t cross-rate because of manning especially if you have an NEC. My goal with making these videos is for education purposes not to suede any individual towards a specific career or against the navy . If a person loves medicine and healthcare this is the perfect rate . I will be posting some more videos in the near future . You can subscribe , if you would like more insight into my personal experience as an AVT. Also I’m a a third now so it doesn’t make sense to cross-rate, I rather commission.

Hey my #1 tip of advice is to research! Know a field you maybe interested in and see what matches In the navy. When you get to MEPS know what to ask for and don’t take no for an answer. Even when they tell you they don’t have it and you will have to come back .

Hello! So there are two options here : you can go enlisted and go to school through the military until you have enough credits to put in a officer package to cross over to being a navy nurse Or you can go to college first and apply automatically to become an officer which is what you need to be to be a nurse . Hey . So especially in bootcamp your hair has to be in regs and unless it’s changed recently . Your hair has to be uniform all over . So all cornrows or all box braids.

It depends on how small it can reach a certain length outward from your actual head . And your cover has to fit .

So you can wear your natural hair as long as it fits under the cover (hat), Also it can not go past your collar on your uniform. If it doesn’t your best bet will be to wear it braided . When do you leave for bootcamp ?

@@maxrod88 hello , I want to say you’ll have pretty much the same experience as newbies in the beginning(unless things have changed) there are still phases you will have to abide by. If you are married etc …. You only are allowed to live off base after a certain amount of time. You’ll be in the barracks with everyone else. Do you still have rank etc? In the school house this doesn’t really matter but you might get a leadership position of your class.

When I went to bootcamp you could. But it has to not reach below your collar so you should get it really short .

Yes, I was trying to get it but everybody wants that rate and I takes forever to advance and I also heard their trying to downsize and use civilians with medical experience instead

So it’s both undermanned and undermanned … we have the most ppl in this rate but they need medical personal. We have these things called NECs that other rates Don’t have I’ll do a video eventually on it . And corpsman get put into those . So it’s a lot of logistics . Also , all corpsman regardless of NEC are ranked together that’s part of the problem with advancing . But I mapped to third hoping I can mapp to second before leaving this command .

I suggest not taking a job you don’t want from jump because it’s no guarantee they can/will .

@@tera4603 it is possible to change in DEP just not likely especially if you ship soon. Just keep annoying them about changing it and they might do it but you have to do it before bootcamp . Also your job change can change your ship date .!

@@ThatGirlTaylorMarie yes , because that’s what sold me is that they would put in waiver to get the job that I want. And the job that I want would give me exposure to my career goal . Another question , do you like it ? Do you wish you would’ve took another route ? And would you re-enlist ?
