I’m interested in getting a freestanding electric unit with mantle for my apartment. Are there any from Modern Flame or Dimplex? What’s the preferred brand/model for this circumstance?

There are options that cost $5k but if you watch the video you will notice that I mention many other options way below this price point. Also, not everyone shopping for an electric fireplace does so because of the budget constraints. Some people just prefer this cleaner, more convenient, eco-friendly fireplace option. I’m simply pointing out some of the options that look more realistic if this is something you are after.

@Modernblazefireplaces fair. However, I disagree with your opinion on big box stores. I've purchased many electric fireplaces from. Are those water vapor ones inventive and cool? Yes. Can the majority of people afford them, or does the area they live in have a dedicated fireplace store? Probably not.

All valid points. Like I mention in the video, all this is very subjective. We all have different tastes and what looks good to me might not look good to someone else. And you are right, not everyone has a fireplace store nearby which is the big reason why we created Modern Blaze. We are trying to make fireplaces less complicated and more accessible to people.

Yes, with all electric fireplaces, flame can be used without heat. So, if you don’t want the heat you just dont turn it on. I do not see many reviews on Lite deer Latitude fireplace but that seems to be in decent price range. Would you highly recommend that fireplace? Any cons to watch out for? I see a lot of fireplace in the market and it is very confusing to choose from. Please recommend

There aren’t many reviews because it’s a fairly new product. So far we are getting a positive feedback from customers who purchased Litedeer Latitude. I agree it is a great price point for what you get. The only thing to keep in mind is that Litedeer is a less established brand so we don’t have enough history to tell how they would handle things if something is wrong with the product down the line. I would recommend purchasing an extended warranty just to be safe.

Happy new year! I’m not sure if you mean below the TV? Let me know if I misunderstood. Water vapor fireplaces are generally safe to install below a TV because just like electric fireplaces they don’t produce a lot of heat. Although the mist is fine and dissipates quickly, ensure the TV is mounted at a sufficient height to avoid prolonged exposure to moisture. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for clearance above the fireplace to avoid condensation affecting the TV.

Yes, there are some fireplaces that cost $5000 or more, there are some that cost just a few hundred dollars, many electric fireplaces are very budget friendly and don’t require expensive remodeling either.

Do the water vapor units require “exhaust” venting … does the water vapor have harmful effects like rust or causing paint or wall paper to peel? Or do they require an outside source of air?

Water vapor fireplaces don’t need any special venting or outside air intake. The mist is very fine and the increase in humidity is so minimal that they don’t cause any rust or peeling of wallpaper in spaces with normal air flow.

Do you notice a difference when cycling thru the 16 - 28C heat setting? I just got my 64inch and notice little to no difference when cycling thru those temps. Not sure if the unit is working as intended.

You don’t really notice the difference in heat output when you change the temperature on the thermostat. That temperature setting is for the fireplace to turn off the heat when it reaches the set temperature and turn the heat back on when the temperature drops below the set temperature. As far as heat intensity, there should be 2 settings: high and low. You should feel the difference in the heat output between these settings. I hope this clears things up. There shouldn't be excessive yellow tips like that on the pancake burner. The yellow tips should be just very slight at the top of the blue flame without soot formation at the top of the gauze. There's either something blocking the airflow in the air intake venturi or the gas / air mir mixture is incorrect and needs adjustment by a qualified LPG service engineer.

Courtney is using the new Affinity 2CH dimmer for the 2 6000W Heaters. The controller needs to be grounded, but not enclosed, and should be mounted in a well ventilated area.

Check your building codes whether piercing valves are in code where you live. They are not allowed in Michigan, as the conyi uses hot/cold contraction can start leaves from corrosion.

Nothing is wrong with Magic Flame virtual fireplaces as far as I know but I have not seen them in person to judge the flame effect and I don't know enough about the brand to judge the quality. This is why I'm not recommending them in this video.

This video is intended to go together with an installation manual. As a general rule, you should always follow installation instructions in the manual that comes with your fireplace. Eco-Feu fireplace manual states this: "Do not install directly on or beside wallpaper, furniture, mirrors, fittings, laminate or any surfaces that are not fire resistant as the heat will impact the appearance and physical properties of those materials". I just bought the Berkley Oak Monessen log insert set. I notice it's remote control operated. I have 2 questions. First how do you change the batteries in the fireplace? Secondly, is there an emergency shut off anywhere in the event the remote doesn't shut it off?

There should be battery door tabs below the master switch. You have to press down the door tabs to pull out a battery door. It will need 4 AA batteries.

Here is Modern Flames' response: There are no plans for backgrounds in the current Orion. Backgrounds look good in pictures and video but in person we believe it looks 2 dimensional and not as realistic.

Interested in the virtual fireplace, but the Modern Flames Orion is out of budget; is the flame pattern better/different on the Litedeer WarmCastle different than the Latitude series? This video shows multiple flame patterns, rather than the multiple colors shown in the Latitude series. I do not really want/need the 3-sided viewing, but would consider the WarmCastle if it had a better/multiple flame patterns. Thanks in advance for your help!

According to Litedeer, there is no difference when it comes ot flame pattern. Both the Warmcastle and Latitude series offer the same flame effects and features, including multiple flame colors and patterns. The main difference between Latitude and Warmcastle is the way they can be installed. Latitude is a single-sided fireplace whereas Warmcastle can be installed in multiple ways including the 3-sided installation which will allow you to see the flames from more angles. It doesn't seem like you will be missing out on future technology if you buy in 2024 vs 2025. There could be a slight price increase which usually happens every year but nothing too significant to really influence the decision.
