In Canada, most areas allow left turns on red from a 1-way street onto a 1-way street. But only British Columbia allows left turns on red from a 2-way street onto a 1-way street. While in the USA, 8 states, however, prohibit left turns on red, 37 states only allow left turns on red from a 1-way street onto a 1-way street, however, 5 states allow left turns on red onto a 1-way street, even from a 2-way street. But, since you're in British Columbia, you're making that left turn on red from a two-way street onto a one-way street in the right providence in Canada. ✅️ As an American at the bottom of the border, I completely understand.

ok, see at 5:34, my take is blue car in front of you should have gone when the car on opposite side went straight. Why? because they caused needless delay and lag by NOT doing so. When a 4 way stop has traffic on 3 or 4 sides, it moves much faster if cars on opposite sides work together, so North-South cars do their thing, then E-W, then back to N-S, etc. This so much faster and safer than the 'one at a time, let's all guess who is next' method...

What those two people did was illegal. You're not supposed to pass when the broken yellow line is to the left of the solid yellow line

On the road test, I had issues with over and understeering. I need more practice to get the hang of hand-over-hand steering. I know the better I get at steering my vehicle the better I will become at driving. I am 40 years old. I hope to upgrade to get a basic NJ driver's license.

Can you turn on a solid yellow line?
@a1m5983 жыл бұрын
This is too funny. I live at 17th and Chesterfield which is a notorious 4 way stop that people always fight over. I looked up 4 way stops on KZbin and here you are driving in North Van. What a coincidence.

Thanks for the video so 0:57 left across is allowed even if it's a double solid yellow line but passing is prohibited?
@llflash3 жыл бұрын
You can only pass if the yellow line is broken. But left accross is allowed if it doesn't block traffic. For example, if you are entering a driveway, restaurant, etc.

@republic-ld3hq3 жыл бұрын
The sign for the end of a school zone is always on your left-hand side and it is in the shape of the house. Do a quick should check to make sure then proceeded at the normal speed limit.

PLEASE READ: So here in the US, Everyone thinks that crossing a solid white line is illegal, when in fact it is not. The main purpose of these lines is to assist in managing the separation and merging of traffic to avoid an accident. Double White lines, however, are illegal to cross. With single white lines, it is discouraged, but not prohibited. I have a story as proof. I was in New York and a police officer was in front of me in the right turning lane at the red light. The cop didn't realize that you could make a right on red on weekends and so, I went out of the lane, crossed the white line to go around him, and then executed the turn. Immediately, the gumball lights came on and my car was pulled over. The cop explained that it was illegal to cross the line and we argued that it was not, but was discouraged. No ticket was given and he had no argument. Done deal. Know the law, and be polite and compliant when an officer pulls you over. I know there are some bad ones and I've had my fair share, but many of them are good people who just get psychologically abused at every turn with the hatred transpiring currently. - Thanks for reading. - Article of proof - www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2009/A9823

Could you explain more about the turning at 3:01? Shouldn't you just enter the intersection just a little bit instead of going into the middle of the boulevard?
@mayahindi3 жыл бұрын
At 0:51, you are wrong. You should have gone before the guy on the right because you are going straight. You both arrived at the same time, and although usually right of way is given to the person on the right, STRAIGHT always wins over turning. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I have my exam in a couple of days.

@monkeyb18202 жыл бұрын
at least in the US, you're wrong. They got to the stop at roughly the same time, so car on the right goes first. There are some other times where the video maker gets to intersection at same time as car on left, and car on left does NOT give the proper right of way...
@chrisbailey73844 жыл бұрын
If it was two sets of double yellow lines, that would be prohibited to cross it. It makes it into a median.
